Help with kitchen refurb - Skylights?
Comments (27)Having had another look at roof lanterns, we've decided we prefer the look of flat glass windows. Just a personal preference that it's nice to have something with a clear view of the sky and no frame. Love the look of your kitchen Jayne Forrest so thanks for sharing. One plan - good idea to add to the CAD drawing, will look into that. Sterling build - thanks for the advice, I've been looking at the roof Windows you supply so will be in touch...See MoreKitchen refurb - help please
Comments (14)I am aware that this doesn’t tick every box but I hope this inspires you. In my opinion your current layout gives you maximum cabinet and worktop space to accommodate everything you want but you don’t like that layout as there is too much walking around. My alternative has a more compact working area. I note you wanted a sink with drainer- perhaps you could be persuaded with one big simple sink and two dishwashers and vow to never wash a pot again! I also thought that if the kitchen had insufficient space for all of the cookbooks they could go in the dining area which might help retain the clean lines of the handleless kitchen you have your eye on....See Moreideas needed please for a 1970s project!
Comments (17)Hi there and congratulations on owning a new home. Regarding what to do with the outside space, especially the front, I would suggest a few tips to improve the and feel of the area. Introducing a lawn would be a nice place to start. The place will look natural, and plus this may double as play area for kids in future.Flowers and flower pots near the entrance will also enhance the look and feel of the area, making the space more vibrant and energeticYou may also consider one or two large trees to the back of the house, if there is a backyard. Just like flowers, the place will look more natural and probably even larger.Apart from the natural elements additions to the space, it may also be important to use curbs and pavements to define paths from the green areas. This will hugely improve on the organisation of the area. If you can provide more info, including pictures and dimensions and we can help you further a beautiful photorealistic render of what I really think would be a great front looking view. If you'd like to speak to one of our designers, I can offer you a free consultation call. Just contact me at service@betterspace.co or through our site: betterspace.co Thanks, Ed...See Morelarge lounge diner need help me with fire and tv placement please!
Comments (18)It's further than I thought. My concern was the stepped in wall and also the opening to the dining area but as it's further up than I thought the ".entrance" should be fine. You would however be left with an alcove between new and old fire. I wonder what shelves would look like there (I couldn't find an exact pic) or just box it in.. Tadelakt is similar to polished concrete, polished plaster, microcement etc, you could look at any of them just to add a bit of texture/warmth. You could always pay someone to do a CAD design in your room if this is your preferred option? Having said that if you frequently have large parties maybe it's not a great idea to have a fixed structure there? Maybe a tv and fire side by side is a better option? Will see if I can find a pic...See MoreE D
