Zoning a multipurpose room with design and colour

Hi, I am just about to move to a new home where I have a spare 3m x 3m square room that I have complete control over, we are renting, so I can’t change the flooring and do anything too drastic.

I have several main uses for the room:

1. Home office as I work from home on a regular basis

2. Study and Craft activities (paper crafts)

3. Reading and Journalling

4. Playing console games

I’d like ideally to have specific zones defined within the room for each of the main uses and also a small drinks station with a fridge, kettle and some healthy snacks whilst still having the room feel like a single room rather than anything too disjointed.

Tonnes of storage is essential, but I also need a clear space behind my workspace as I quite often attend conference calls for work with clients, so the backdrop needs to still look professional.

I’m thinking of putting in a massive desk running the entire length of one of the 3m walls and divide it in two, with one half used for work with fairly plain accessories and then have some plants and colourful accessories on the craft/study side.

I’d like a comfy chair near to a bookshelf to sit and read a book, or journal away from my desk without feeling like I’m working and can be a bit more relaxed and comfortable.

The room currently has a dark cream carpet, dark wood window frames, skirting board and door frames with white walls. I like the idea of a modern monochrome black and white design with clean lines, white (or coloured) furniture and then pops of colour with accessories, rugs and plants etc.

I’m struggling on how to best define the various zones and spaces whilst making the room still ”work”

Any help, advice and ideas would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
