Design disaster - tap in a wall

In my travels I have seen all sorts of design disasters. Here’s another interesting one.

My photo shows a tap in a wall. It makes you wonder which came first - the tap or the wall??

What design disasters have you come across?

Well, maybe when the kitchen stuff is out you can try different options (ones you want to try) in the wardrobe area and see what you like best. (Actually, there isn't that much stuff next to wardrobe.....up to you, though. Hmmmm. In the meantime, I think you could look for hardware for the cabinets and something for the end of the bed that isn't green.

Those are wise words Karen! am so glad it worked out for you. Love to see a photo, what colour or shade did you choose? Jools, The bitumen is a right pig, best way we found is to make it cold, so it becomes brittle, then you can scrape /chip it off. We used a window scraper, coarse wire wool and various sandpaper. We left the window open on a cold night, turned heating off in there, and you could try a cooler fan on it. Putting ice bags on it didn't work as well as we hoped. we used a round sander, but it can cause swirls, it's really awkward ! To be honest a few dips and scratches on an old floor are okay in the end, don't be too afraid of it, they are only pieces of wood stuck down on the floor, not bone china, as long as you try not to break them, or set fire to them, otherwise you can't possibly do more damage than I did, and they recovered!

My worst decorating disaster - I was painting the hallway and doing the skirting boards in thick gloss paint. My hair was quite long at the time and I had it in a ponytail. I kneeled down to get at an awkward piece of skirting board and yes - my ponytail went straight into the paint pot. I jerked my head up and the ponytail, covered in gloss, swung and slapped me across the face. My son's thought it was hysterical! Several attempts at washing didn't get rid of the paint and I ended up having to have around 6 inches cut off my hair.

Kitchen sink tap and the gap I need between the wall and sink

HI Sonia, Thanks So my sink will be an undermounted and the tap hole will be made in the worktop itself.... This is the tap I have got: https://www.tapwarehouse.com/p/clearwater-rosetta-pull-out-filter-kitchen-tap-pv?sku=clearwater-rosetta-chrome-pull-out-filter-tap-var Curious if I should be asking for some more space at the back the sink Depth is 430mm. Standard worktop I assume is 600mm and undermount sink depth is 430mm which doesnt leave a huge amount at either end, so I'm unsure how this design has been achieved and if this is how it should ideally look?

Hi @Huw Buckley, gosh yes. One could put a frame around it and make it a real feature!
