Master Ensuite colour and tile advise
Comments (8)It's difficult to say without knowing what style you like. I personally like a bit of the dramatic in a bathroom, so really dark greys for the walk in shower and maybe floor to ceiling tiles but in panels where the sinks are.As for the mirror, i think that's down to personal choice, but i would have tiles behind the sink. They can mirror the tiles in the walk in shower:- Do you want modern or traditional, either way, go for opulence:-The lighting and mirrors can help with that. Smoked glass shower door instead of clear?? Also helps with privacy for the person in the showerYou may like a more light and airy approach? Do you have an accent colour in mind for the bedroom that you could carry through to the bathroom - turquoise for example. Change the way the tiles are laid, ie Herringbone on a statement wall ( shower )Of course you could go a more standard route with the tiling and have counter tops with back stands and bring excitement in somewhere else. You need to have a good think about what you like. Open and Idea book and start whittling down what you do and don't like. You'll get there in the end!...See Morecountertop basin flush with wall
Comments (1)There are some basins which are designed to be either wall hung or countertop. These will be your best bet as they will be completely flat on the rear side....See MoreBathroom Design Inspiration
Comments (32)You are right. i went into BQ yesterday to see what an 800 x 800 shower was like - IT WAS TINY. I think I need a 1000 x 800 minimum and as such whipped up two layouts where one requires the toilet to move to a new party wall whereas the other keeps the toilet on the exterior wall but moved closer to the window. The second layout proposal results in a small gap between toilet and shower enclosure. Im concerned that gap might be too tiny to walk through? FYI Wall with the window is exterior Wall to the left separates bedroom Wall with the door is internal Wall with the proposed toilet is the party wall with neighbour. i have also posted a vanilla layout of the room size including window and just the door. Is one of the proposed layouts better than the other? Are there any other layouts I could consider? Layout 2 - is the gap between the shower enclosure and toilet be ok? Vanilla Layout Layout 1 - requires toilet to move to party wall....See MoreGot the drawings back but still unsure. help!
Comments (12)Hi Sonia, The design you currently have looks like it creates a great amount of space but results in 2 separate living spaces next to each other towards the front of the house. Both of these would have to be walked through to get to the kitchen or dining space. My recommendation is to switch the living and kitchen spaces around. As per your notes, I have reduced the length of the extension to 5m, and replaced the shower room with a under stairs W/C. The hallway now opens directly into the kitchen, with a breakfast bar and walkway on one side so that the living and dining area can be accessed without going through the kitchen area. A double door is added from the kitchen to the front room so it can be connected or separated as desired. The kitchen and a small utility space partly extend into the extension to allow more space for cupboards (thought this could be reduced if you preferred more living space). Then at the back of the house, a large living and dining space could open out onto the patio with a full width set of bifold doors. Please let me know what you think? I have a few more alternative ideas as well. And I wish you all the best with your extension project!! Phill...See MoreE D
