A Beautiful Extension Transformation in South West London
Comments (11)Thank you for your comment. We had to raise the patio with 600mm in order to be flash with the floor level inside of the house. The bottom floor integrated sliding door rail track gives a perfect finish and it is less than an inch high from inside and outside floor level. You can see on the pictures above that the sliding door is floor to ceiling, which allow maximum amount of light going in....See Moredo we need an extra VeLux in a north-north west facing kitchen??
Comments (1)I am north facing and also in the north. Maybe our light is different here, but I have a similar (smaller) extension with one velux and it is full of light. What it doesn’t get is direct sunlight, except early on summer mornings. I also had to block up half of a floor to ceiling window in a north facing bedroom and the loss of light is minimal....See MoreReplace south facing conservatory with extension?
Comments (4)Thanks Lizzie that looks great. I have to say though I need to be convinced on the orangery type of extension as our last house and this one has a got a conservatory and our previous one had one too and I'm not a big fan (the usual too hot in summer, too cold in winter, too much glazing etc! I can understand it's better but would be concerned about having the same type of issues - presume yours is ok? Man about the house - thanks for those drawings. Interesting you have done a seperate utility room - was hoping with all the extra wall space to have them down the side. Is there still a preference to have a seperate utility room? Maybe I need to go bigger!...See MoreFlooring for a south facing kitchen extension.
Comments (3)Use the correct recommended "High Temperature" adhesive from the LVT manufacturer and lifting won't be a problem. UV rays is a potential issue for fading, though. The more expensive, higher quality LVT brands, such as Amtico will come with some form of UV test pass. Stick to a major LVT brand, make a few design choices as potentials and then ask your supplier (that could be us!) if the ones you have selected have passed a UV test. Ask for the manufacturer's specification/data sheet to make sure you are not being hood-winked. Reputable LVT manufacturers, in no particular order, are: Amtico Polyflor Natural Solutions If you see anything you like the look of Paul, use our contact form and ask for samples.
