Calling Bathroom Experts ! ..bathroom saga.
Comments (17)Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! I feel like celebrating!!...See MoreNeed help 'styling out' black/grey bathroom
Comments (23)Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end...See MoreWhat size shower will fit in my bathroom
Comments (17)Going by the plan above, i'm a little confused. Clearly the sliding door faces to the wall on the right, therefore, it is the length of the shower that should be in question not the width. The sink at 900mm is far too large for the bathroom. Either, have the stud wall at one end of the shower or the other, reduce the size of the sink and have room for the toiletries. You can still fit in a 900 wide shower, it makes no odds if it's 900 or 800. It's the length that's the problem. Alternatively the last option would be to have the 800mm wide shower with the 1200mm length and have the back wall built with niches for toiletries. These will however be constantly covered in water due to the shower head needing to be attached to that wall not the glass sliding doors as in the given illustration. So, better to go for option one or two with the wall at one end or the other. Personally i like the wall at the end near the sink it gives more of an illusion of privacy....See Morehelp with tiling in the bathroom pretty please
Comments (33)These are the tile samples I have so far. On the left - small top dark grey, under that is a tile with faux stepped marble effect tiles that are more slate toned. Large tile to the right is the mandarin stone one (v expensive, lol) The walnut in the middle I love the pattern but it’s not as rich a colour as I wanted and I can’t find anything else online in an American walnut style tile. The bottom tile is a v v pale grey with similar pattern to the mandarin stone one. How would you work these tiles together? Walnut floor and sink unit and dark grey all over the walls? Just the patterned grey on the back of the shower wall and sink area and plain grey on other walls?? :0/...See MoreAdams+Collingwood Architects
