help with living room/dining room layout and furniture
Comments (3)Hi there, Looking at your layout and depending on how many people will be seated I suggest looking into corner shaped sofa along the long wall closer to the window so that you can set up a TV on the opposite wall and get the most out of your space. However it does mean you may lose a little bit of the light from the doors. Alternatively you could have a 2 seater sofa and an armchair where your cupboards are to hide it a bit and still give you plenty of seating. For your dining table I suggest to keep this closer to the kitchen. From the floor plan I don't think you will be able to have a very large table so if you do plan to entertain I suggest to buy an extending dining table. I am not sure how far the kitchen comes, if it is beyond the door on the opposite wall? Then I would suggest to going for a two seater sofa instead. Hope this helps, thanks Rukmini...See MoreClosing off living room/dining room advice (pictures included).
Comments (2)Closing off the open plan living space between the living room and space dining space. We're not a fan of open living. It's drafty and noisy. Trying to plan the best solution for a door placement between living room and dining room that flows but doesn't compromise space and view between rooms (small children). All advice and opinions are welcome...See MoreIs changing my living room into a kitchen/ dining room a good idea?
Comments (1)It’s not a big house and I suspect that if you try to increase the number of rental bedrooms you only invite the student market which may not be your intention. You need to make the decision on your local market- I suspect your research will tell you that either no change will increase the rental potential enough to justify the cost. Or you might conclude two bedrooms with a bathroom each is great for sharing professionals...See MoreNeed Help with Living Room/ Dining Room/TV room
Comments (7)Hi Shanna, What a great space. If your mum is not afraid of colour I would certainly recommend some large pieces of art. Does your mum have a preference of the style she would like, rather than be dicated by the space ? I would love to help your mum create her idea space. You can check out my work at www.myclaybrickhome.com/case-studies We could start with a 2D floor plan to get the flow right and then start to build that out into a design. Drop me a reply or email to vicky@myclaybrickhome.com if you want to discuss further. This work can be done online. I am based in the UK but currently working on a ranch home in Dallas.
