need help designing a open plan kitchen, living, dining area
Comments (6)Hello Jeannette, what a lovely project! I've worked on a number of bungalows and they have their own unique challenges. Making the spaces work for our needs today, and for your own family needs have to be the priorities. I would suggest you appoint an interior designer before thinking in detail about the kitchen. An interior designer will find out how you want to use the space and come up with clever floor plan that is workable and beautiful. This is going to be a really important investment for you. I would love to help - I couldn't advise in any detail without seeing the property and of course, without meeting you. Very best wishes Yasmin....See MoreNeed help with new kitchen design

An integrated fridge freezer may be enough in terms of storage and this will free up some space for you. The sink looks great where you have it. If you have the drainer on the left then it will give you some elbow room. Downdraft extractors are great for islands as they as so discreet. Personally I don't like large canopy extractors, they're a fairly ugly feature. The run of skinny wall units above the sink looks a little odd, especially with the one longer unit to the right. Also, the units above the fridge freezer will be very hard to access. If you can bear to lose this storage space I think it would look better without the cupboards and maybe have some bespoke shelves instead, something a little different....there's plenty of inspiration on Houzz. Happy to help again if you're stuck, I know how tricky some kitchens are to plan as there's a lot to consider. Best regards Caroline...See MoreNeed help with kitchen (re) design please
Comments (0)Looking for design advice and help with 3D rendering of the design please. Happy to pay for the consultation. This is a new kitchen, done as part of a full refurbishment. Due to some structural issues elsewhere in the house, the initial layout was a compromise. But, now the structural changes situation has changed allowing for hopefully a better kitchen design. Have posted earlier on here and received some great advice. So, we are having one last go at getting the kitchen design right. Hopefully, you all can help me achieve this :-) Below is a picture of the kitchen and the measurements, with the following change : the vertical radiator and the door next to it is now gone. So, its a long wall there.. Also, Hob run has to stay as it is. Hob and oven don't have to be close as we don't use the oven much for cooking. Here is our working (re) design: [Its not set in stone, so, please feel free to comment :-) ] - Move the tall units to left wall (i.e, to 1 in the diagram) -3,4,5 : Long run of base units with worktop , sink in the middle, dishwasher to the left of the sink. and 7,8,9: shallow half height wall units; with glass splash back. The corner bases of 5 and possibly also 3 will be unusable. That is okay. Not sure : 7,9 : fill with the same half height wall units as 8 or use open shelving for 4 and 5 and use half height wall units for 6? Thank you all...See MoreNeed help for kitchen and sitting area design....
Comments (33)Hi so this is what I had in mind. Although it ideal I think it would be too expensive for now to remove that lone cupboard. So an idea would be; 1. Paint the walls white 2. Paint the cupboards pale grey: http://www.farrow-ball.com/paint/Paint-For-Kitchen-Cupboards 3. Get nice oak laminate floor from Homebase or B&Q 4. It may cost between £200 and £300 to fit the floor with underlay. But totally worth it. 5. Cheap grey sofa (maybe not corner sofa) or second hand sofa, max those dimensions on the plan. I bought two cheap ones from Homebase for our back room and they're totally fine. 6. Farmhouse table with bench / Eiffel chairs 7. Tv bench and side table from ikea 8. If you keep the freestanding fridge paint it with chalkboard paint. http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/wrust-oleum-black---chalkboard-paint---750ml-125028 I'll post some photos of the sort of look I had in mind....See Moregarbo
