Thanks for your question - The render is not painted, its a light grey through colour render to avoid having to keep painting the house.

K11agl, thanks for the mellow mocha pic ....yes looks great in your bathroom but I'd hate it on my outside walls lol! The joy of colour swatches eh? I will look up the Crown colour you suggested & some other lighter greys ....maybe even a greige might work? I'd like a modern classic look but don't want it to look too dark or gloomy.

I think you can have any colour front door you like. With regards render, i'd go for a cool tone if you're having grey windows. Jasmine white looks good on the colour card, but my experience of Dulux and that shade in particular, is that they come up a lot lighter than you think they will, and the cards aren't that accurate. I've no idea if you can get testers of those.

I also like the pale green/ grey of the primed upstairs windows. I think it sits very handsomely with the white. Personally I think a nearly white is more forgiving than a brilliant white which seems to be better in very modern houses. Whether you chose a colour instead depends on who is going to enjoy it- if that is you then chose a colour for your taste- personally I would chose an elegant pastel or contemporary dark colour- if you are selling on then whites have universal appeal. And I wouldn’t worry that the side of your house is plainer than the front- personally I like that it has a wider than normal plot and you can see the side. So far it’s looking much improved- well done.

I would paint the walls a dark green e.g. Farrow & Ball Card Room Green 47, or Green Smoke 79. Then plant some climbers up it either side of the patio doors like stephanotis floribunda, which can thrive in a large pot/planter. Then consider a couple of window boxes beneath the cill that way you’ll benefit from looking out on plant colour from inside the house as well as having an external seasonal display outside. I re plant my wall boxes just twice a year - summer bedding plants and then winter/spring as in the photos. ‘Lechuza Balconera’ boxes and support brackets can be found through a google search. They have a reservoir and so they are semi self watering.
