Comments (20)I think new art is a good idea. We all like a little refresh of wall art every now and then, and I really don’t blame you. I think The Range is good for cheap and cheerful art, and surprisingly good. Wayfair are also good, and for the more special art prints I’ve found King & McGaw very stylish. Of course you could go to an art gallery and choose an original piece if budget allows. These prints are from King & McGaw:...See More1960s / 1970s Extension dilemma - no bricks! render or clad?
Comments (3)Personally i'd say, if you're going to such lengths with a new garage, extension possibly the porch etc, which is a lot. I would render the whole front of the house and garage to tie the whole project together. However, you can't see much of the brick of the garage on the front, just the piers. Looking closely at them, I think the garage brick was slightly different to the main house and wonder if it was already an addition? Also, if you look at the bricks above the line of where the garage has come down, the top bricks are a different colour to the bottom. So 1, 2 & 3 are all different colour bricks. 1 and 2 are very similar, but to me there is a subtle difference as 1 doesn't contain any darker bricks and is very slightly brighter red....See MoreNew colour dilemma for the house!
Comments (12)Yea, I think part of our problem is we're rushing it slightly and deciding so that we can get it painted by the painter... We know that if we end up doing it ourselves then it'll be 6 months - 1 year before its actually all done. I think we're hoping to choose the "right" colours the first time around... but then if we find something really doesn't work, we'd obviously redo it afterwards. The kitchen is west facing but also gets light from the living room which is again westerly.. but gets a lot of northerly light due to the roof lantern being shaded on it's south side! So in essence we're aiming for warmer tones... :-)...See MoreKitchen paint colour dilemma
Comments (3)Green would be nice, such a calm, gentle colour and so relaxing. I have Cromarty in my living room which faces North-East. A dusky pink would also go nicely. This is Cromarty....See MoreBaly
