What kind of curtain rod are the curtains hanging on?

Hi Joy, thank for your question about this window treatment mounted on a sliding glass door. It is a 1 1/8" metal traverse rod with ball bearing glides to allow curtain to slide back and forth on the track.

Found one solution but not ideal as end of the curtain rod which I love will not be seen with a bottom to ceiling wardrobe " The Curtain Pole ... It is quite common for there not to be enough depth next to a window to fit a wardrobe. This problem can be easily overcome with the placement of a " recessed filler ". This allows the wardrobe to be placed close to the window - but with space down the side for the curtains to draw into. The curtains, when drawn back, still extend further than the wardrobe - so the wardrobe does not appear to be standing proud of the window"

Blinds would be the better option and would help the room feel more spacious. Wooden venetian blinds are good for controlling the light effectively, and would suit that window perfectly. You could also go for roman blinds, or if you're looking to block out as much light as possible, a blackout roller blind. Our sitting room has brown leather sofas, a black, dark brown & cream cow skin rug and lots of wood. It is decorated with memorabilia from our time living in India and China. Our house is Tudor style, some parts dating back to 16th Century but this room is in an extension that was built about 30 years ago. The room which we call the “Gentleman’s Lounge” currently has gold tone silk curtains that are short (right hand window). The left hand window in the photo has one long cream curtain that I put up just to see what a longer lighter colour curtain would look like. My questions: Long or short curtains? Ring plus pleats or eyelet curtains ? Should I raise the curtain rod or will it look odd because of the wooden beam across the top of the windows? Any other advice or suggestions would be appreciated

Floor length, S wave. And yes raise the rod up higher so you get max length of curtains.
