Wall Panelling in bedroom/bathroom
Hi all
We are currently updating our bedroom/ bathroom - and the bath is at the end of the bedroom - it’s all open planned. I have stripped all the walls and would like to put panelling behind the bath but as you can see it’s an odd wall so I’m asking for suggestions. I thought the shaker style would probably be the best option but it’s not my favourite. I have seen other ideas where the panelling goes around the whole wall instead of panelled sections - has anyone got any ideas what would look good or an alternative - I will attach a picture of the area - the panelling is going to be painted in the large middle sample which you can see on the wall now.

3 years agoI think t&g would work as you often see in attics however I'm guessing that's not the style you want. If you want georgian style panelling I think you need to follow the shape of the wall for panels, I've attached (a badly drawn) picture but hopefully you get the gist.

Comments (8)We did this to make the ensuite the main bathroom, when we converted the bathroom to make an extra bedroom. We stole a toilet and bath width, as the new door went in where the toilet and sink had been, and added a bath in addition to the existing shower. Comments (17)I think your design is great (love the wall finish!) as long as the toilet is closed off and ventilation is good. I think a bath in a bedroom can look great if it isn't the main bath in the house. We went to a lovely hotel which had a copper bath set on tiles in front of a fire. The hotel came and run the bath for you and lit the fire (think I could have managed the bath but not the fire at the time!). If it's not intended for daily practical use then it's great for a bit of me time or with your partner. I think most people who opt for a bath in the bedroom would then have a practical ensuite with shower or go for something similar to your design....See Morebedroom and bathroom color

Comments (0)the joining wall between our bedroom and the bathroom is papered but over the last five years a pink stain (dry) has started add the bottom and is now halfway up the wall all along it. 3 years agoThat’s something else we have considered and also just going straight across to give an effect like this picture, but not sure if it would give the same effect as the ceiling is much lower.

3 years agoWould this work? If I followed the line of the wall with a heavier beading and painted it so it’s stands out?

3 years agoWhatever panelling you choose it will look amazing in one of those taupe shades on your wall. I love a bit of tongue and groove.

3 years agoI think the heavier beading around the edge would also work. I do like the one Suzanne found but must admit I can't quite work out your floor!
