Hi! I'm currently trying to measure (😂). so my landing is 130cm in width (including rise of top step) by 220cm. Each step is 43 cm (rise and tread including nose) by 76cm. However, I have 2 botton steps that wind round and at their widest points they're 110cm x 90cm. I have 14 steps in in total.

Hi Joanne. I think a matt black table may overpower the room a little. Perhaps look for something with a black frame or legs or even a glass table table to maximise feeling of space. If the budget can stretch I would go for wood, something similar to what you have with grey'ish and blonde tones or sand your floor. Pic frames would keep fairly thin if in black. You could stick to the colour palette you have and add texture and pattern and just add splashes of colour in art and with good quality faux flowers. Mustard I think is a little strong against pale grey but perhaps shades of blue, green or grape or muted tones mixed with a little darker grey. The room may be too small for 2 chairs but draw templates and try. If not one chair would be great angled against the cabinet. If you need extra seating consider an upholstered footstool instead of a coffee table. What type of ŵall lights are you having as that will dictate what goes in the alcoves? I hope you don't mind me saying but I would paint the picture rail grey, it looks a little low so will increase ceiling height and you won't have the break with the chimney breast. If you do have to go for carpet, paint a piece of card and take it along to the carpet shop with you.

Wow - GREAT wallpaper! I would definitely go dark on the carpet. If you're feeling brave then black, but as someone said above, that might jar a bit with the windows. A more muted alternative would be a dark grey or slate colour which would work with the wallpaper and still set off a good contrast with your existing settee. If you're feeling really brave, a deep (blue-based) purple would be truly fabulous. Purple works brilliantly with turquoise, pink and green, all of which are key accents on your walls. Grab something purple and hold it up against the wallpaper - you'll see what I mean! ;-)

I thought I recognised your name! How did the kitchen colour go in the end? I think a Persian would be lovely, and the pattern would hide any paw marks although wool is meant to dispel any dirt. I’m a bit limited on colour Options but also tried it in a yellow (I was after an F&BIndian yellow but couldn’t get the shade!) It may not be your thing but you can go bold in a dining room?
