What colour should I paint my cabinets?
Hello! We just replaced our countertops with Calacatta quartz. At first we were thinking we would not paint our cabinets but now seeing the new countertops we realise that we really should.
It's between Gray or White. We want something neutral that will still look updated and nice years from now. The tile we are considering is subway tile. I like a couple styles: boho / tribal / transitional /organic modern/ modern farmhouse!. Any recommendations for specific paint shades carried by Sherwin Williams is appreciated.

Comments (20)This look would be rather timeless and easy to re-use when wanting to change styles and colour schemes. Keeping a rather neutral palette, which is what you've gone for is a good idea for the kitchen as to not age so quickly. With the use of colourful accessories and well chosen lighting I think this space could look fab. If you hadn't already chosen your units and had them fitted, I'd have recommended a slightly darker shade to provide some contrast, and a slightly lighter island colour. However, I wouldn't recommend darker walls, purely as your space although being a good size and having some natural light. It's not flooded with it, so wouldn't want to makes the space darker than necessary. Hope this helps! Comments (3)I imagine in that in a relatively neutral room it’s too much of a good thing and because it’s vibrant it sits uncomfortably with the elegance of the rest of the scheme. I was initially focused on a paper neutral colour palette but the green looks fab and I like the idea of mirroring the greenery outside. here is a photo in found that captures this look. also a photo of countertop material with original cabinet colour choices in gray and backsplash choices for subway tile.

3 years agoI took your advice @alyson38 , @Fran and @Raumtastik and here is how it looks so far. I havent finished painting walls which will be SW Alabaster. I am currently trying to decide if I should do open shelving on either side of the kitchen window (I put some blue painter's tape where it would go) or some blinds (in natural wood looking woven linen, bamboo). It needs something there as it looks kinna blah.
