Paint colour for hall stairs and landing

I'm renovating an entire house and am getting a bit colour choiced out! The hallway has a quarry tile floor which I'm going to restore and I'm having a light beige carpet on the stairs, landing and all bedrooms. I was thinking it would be nice to pick up the quarry tile colour in one wall in the stairway... There's natural light from a tall thin window but no other light so it can look dark. Woodwork I was thinking white but open to other ideas!
Upstairs there is a lot of colour in the bedrooms...

It would be really useful to post a few photos. A lot depends on the actual space, but also the exact colour of the carpet and tiles. I don't think I would go for pure white with quarry tiles, it could look a bit harsh. Earthy stoney colours could work well with quarry tiles.

Hi. There aren't any colours for the kitchen? I might look at farrow and ball dimity or pointing. Re the hall although the silver works with the colours in the tiles I don't find it works as well with the background colour. I quite like the blue idea to bring out the blue/grey and yellow in the tiles but it would be good to see the whole floor so as to see the plain tiles. Other colours that may work (inaccurate way of holding colour chart against screen!!) are LG pale Wedgwood or bone china blue pale or f&b dimpse

Hi all we are almost at the end of a 20 week renovation and decision fatigue has set in and I need some trained eyes to help. I need to pick paint colours ASAP for hall/stairs/landing and open kitchen diner. Hall: is curved bright and open. There a runner effect of these tiles surrounded by a mid grey tile. Can't decide between a pale grey or a pale blue. These are a mix of Pantone, Colourtrend and Little Greene colours. Any thoughts? It's south facing and lots of sunlight hit this hallway. Question is: With these tiles a pale blue or grey paint? Kitchen diner:this is my main dilemma. Units are half installed. Back run is a painted oak colour v similar to elephants breath with an island close to downpipe. There's lots of widows and skylights but it's north facing so need something warm. These are the ones I planned using but the colour of units seems to disappear into them. Question being:what colour paint compliments these units and makes them stand out?official name of colour is cashmere. Thanks so much!

It's tricky because the first image shows the carpet and walls to look cold and bluish, the last image, the carpet looks warmer and the walls violet. This shows why it's a bit risky to give paint suggestions without seeing things. My opinion on poorly lit dingy areas is you need to go for cleaner colours or/more saturated. This means that whatever the hue or colour, how 'greyed' it is is very important when assessing light levels in a room. In a dingy room things are very grey and Northern light exaggerates this. Cleaner versions of a colour seem to suit these spaces. Saturated colours also work in dingy spaces, but that is not necessarily a solution for a hallway. Little Greene paints are really good as they give the LRV values, so you know how dark or light they are. However, you can have a darker clean colour and a lighter greyed colour and that's why this is all very confusing. I would try to go for something that is from the same hue family of the carpet if you can match it.

Well what a coincident! Visited a friend yesterday who is having her hallway, stairs and landing painted on Monday and wanted my advice (!). She has chosen a Karndean style herringbone floor for her hall and a soft check stair carpet in a warm caramel colour. Staircase is oak and glass. Not much natural light in the hall. We looked through loads of paint charts but she didn’t want the expense of F&B or Little G. Then we both felt Dulux Caramel Latte or Caramel Blush would look good. She later bought some matchpots and loves both shades, so she’s having the Latte on one wall and the Blush on the rest. They are lovely warm tones with very appropriate names!

I don't have a photo of the tiles as they're under a carpet. But I can get one later possibly. I've just heard that I need to choose a different colour carpet too! So ideas are welcomed

Photo with the tiles exposed. But I've chosen soft coral dulux light and space now... Hopefully the right decision! I tried timeless but found it too cold.
