Comments (10)Hi Clair, It is indeed a very tricky room with all the doorways around and the need to keep flow. The best in these cases is usually to go for flexible pieces of furniture that can be moved around easily to adjust the room to your needs, so I'm afraid that an L shaped sofa might not be the best choice as you mention yourself no matter how you look at it you might be disrupting a flow somewhere. Poufs, Ottomans, Small vintage nursing chairs (these are on wheels so can be moved around), are all great options. For example this picture where the poufs are placed under the coffee table and can be taken out when additional seating or even side tables are required. Comments (9)One of the things people tend to do when arranging furniture in a room is push all the furniture to the perimeter of the room. Bring the left sofa tighter into the middle of the room. Then place a narrow console behind it to give you an area for some slim lamps and some pretty bits, You could even have a narrow bookcase type thing on that wall. Let us know what you think if you try it :)...See MoreSmall Living Room with Bay Window Layout
Comments (2)I would probably just put a comfy armchair in the top right corner facing the sofa and a chair in the bay (something which doesn’t visually fill the room). however it depends on how many you need to sit on a daily basis, whether a tv is going in the room etc. You could also put a small sofa/loveseat on the top wall, choose something on legs, with narrow arms and something that doesn’t contrast too much with the walls. Again a chair in the bay or look for a modern chaise or put in a window seat if you’re having shelves built anyway. A good trick is to mask things out with masking tape (or boxes are good if you happen to have any lying around 😂)...See MoreLauren
