Wall colour advice for NE facing kitchen

We are revamping our kitchen diner in a few weeks and have recently bought some new dining chairs/bar stools/sofas in teal velvet and navy blue. I‘m excited about the new

bright colours but now wondering what colour to paint the walls. It’s a NE facing room and relies on artificial light most of the time. It is currently painted in Dulux Fine Cream which goes perfectly with the ivory gloss cupboards and cream sparkly wallpaper. However we’ve had it painted this colour twice now and it seems very boring to have it a third time! Any advice from those more knowledgable than me in the colour department would be hugely appreciated!

The further away you move from the Yellow Hue Family of your cabinetry, the more their ivory colour will be emphasised. So that can help narrow down your search somewhat.

These are two colours from the same Hue Family. One more green than the other.

how about removing the sparkly wallpaper and swap it in for a pattern that includes teal and navy?

If you were my client I would agree with Samantha that you really need to keep it to the naturals to keep it as light and airy as possible. The units are fairly dark and the black tiles will also be sucking in light so a green would make it feel quite a bit smaller and darker than it does now. I would paint it all in a nice clean and fresh off white (floors, walls and skirting) and than add your accent green in through accessories which will also make it easy to change if you get board of it or find is too cold in winter months. You could also paper the feature wall, as suggested, in keeping with the scheme. Hang a large mirror to help reflect light and then get some nice warm blinds or window dressing to add texture, warmth and a homely feel. You could also change the small light fitting in the dining room to a large pendent style light to hang over the dining table which will add impact and make the room feel more balanced. You could consider a 3D render/image of the space which do not cost too much but will give you a great look at the room after painting so you can see what is possible and what effect the colour will have on the space. Your plan sounds nice as the walnut will warm up the grey..... However I wonder if carpet is a better option for sound insulation and for cleaning plus it is easier to add wood furniture. You could choose a stripe or tartan for a more lux look. You might also consider if you want to add some white walls in the parts of the building with lower ceilings and less windows. I might also consider pale grey ceilings to help emphasize ornate white coving. You should paint the walls, ceiling and coving with a flat emulsion. Woodwork should be an eggshell- I think you get the paint your decorator wants to paint with. If you intend to rent them furnished as a serviced apartment I think that you will need to add more colours to make them feel more homely but otherwise you are planning a smart blank canvass

I have always put roman blinds above any window like this; they do not get as dirty as you imagine, they can be vacuumed regularly anyway for dust. Anything slatted always attracts dust and looks a bit over functional/starter home in my view. You can get them made or make them yourself if you have any simple sewing skills, the measuring is hardest part, all the seams are straight and easy to do. I have found I have saved myself a fortune this way and they always look classy too. I would recommend washing the fabric before making up and using a less textured, more shiny fabric if possible, as they can then even be taken down to wash occassionally in the bath and hung outside; less texture on fabric retains the dirt and grease less.
