False window dressings/ Pseudo Roman Blinds

I have an old beamed house with 6 small windows in the living room. I never close the current blinds left by previous owner as the room is warm and not overlooked.

However I would like to change the fabric and because I want to let in maximum light, it crossed my mind to make pseudo roman blinds, with maybe only 2 folds fastened to the batten at the top, rather than the customary 3 or 4 folds. Does any one have any photos/ideas for false window dressings? would anyone notice? I can make the blinds myself. Thank you
