Hello Irina, I must say it may not be intentional as your mirror is broken but how you have situated it is actually really gr8! I think it looks really refreshing placed that way and works beautifully with the blue. I want to suggest something by Michael Anastassiades which I think would be ideal like the tube chandelier. Which would also work brilliantly with your floor lamp. One more thing... I'd love to suggest a Swan basket for the fireplace with plain feet.. Free standing rather than dogs. :)) This is a 3 sided swan and I have mine the other way around.. I think it looks better that way. : ))

It may be worth speaking to the electrician if you're not as keen on swagging. I know they can run a "pipe" through the ceiling void with the cabling in to put extra outlets and then just drill a hole from underneath the ceiling for the light but that is dependant on the joist direction etc though. That may not be feasible for what you want to do but may be worth asking the question anyway! If not, choose hooks that blend in with the ceiling? It will be easier to assess position this way too as you can just get the electrician to hold each one up for assessment before fixing! A general rule is that lights should be 1/2 - 2/3 of the tables width and normally hung 30-36 inches above the table. Given the double height I'd probably just start the lowest pendant c40-46 inches but I'm not sure on your total ceiling height and even though it's a feature you want to make sure the table is sufficiently lit! They provided the pva stuff but my husband did the labour for that prep work. It's been hard but we finally got the first coat of plaster paint on last week and new windows going in today so hope to get painting completed and carpet fitted before end of month.

Even though you have fixed the source of the damage i would get someone to check the actual damage to make sure you dont have any rot/damp/mould lurking as if you do it will again seep through into the ceiling paper or the new plaster. We have had this problem with walls and in the end we were advised the plaster be removed and re done as the problem was the exterior wall and even though it was fixed the damage had been done and after attempting to paper over the damp seeped through and turned the wall paper wet. Better to check than do it all up and have to take it all apart again and start over.
