Should I sacrifice a downstairs study/bedroom to extend small kitchen

My house has 2 bedrooms upstairs, one large and one small double. A few years ago we extended on the ground floor to make a good sized third bedroom/study along with other alterations. We have found however that we are not really using this room so are considering knocking through from our small galley kitchen. We have no intention of moving but wonder if this would decrease the value or saleability. Downstairs there is a lounge, dining room, kitchen and bedroom/ study so the house is bottom heavy. We cannot knock through from the kitchen to the dining room so this would be our only option of making a bigger kitchen.
