Can you share the brand, variety, and colors of the lap siding, metal, and stone?

The lap siding is Cedar with a custom mixed color that the homeowners choose as the painter was adding colors. The metal siding is rusty metal that was sprayed with water and covered with a tarp for a few weeks. The stone is Telluride Gold collection color mix "Highlands" & "Palmyra".

Hello Jay, Maybe consider your surroundings and use these as inspiration.. I like to suggest textures and usually mention Frank Lloyd Wright.. His textured blocks made from concrete were as fantastic when he designed this range of houses in LA/Pasadena as they are today! Still beautiful.. Reminiscent of Mayan styled homes, perhaps do something along the lines of earthy chalky render to finish and perhaps consider some sort of pattern for a simpler take on the style... They're really quite magnificent.. Then think large green fronds... Palms, banana leaves and other green leafy plants local plants etc, large large terracotta pots with or without plants and this will work beautifully with the glass doors you're putting in.. :))

Agree with Lauren on this. Architecturally this property is crying out for regeneration/a face lift. You could easily enhance the facade treatment and no doubt daylight filtration into the interior spaces through introducing a range of materials/cladding/new openings. Perhaps it is worth looking at some conceptual design options initially and then opening up discussions with your local planning department. If you do not risk over capitalising then you could consider increasing the SQFT through extending upwards or inserting dormers! This may help you improve the internal accommodation. Hard to say without fully understanding the existing set up. I have worked on over 600 developments over the past 9 years and can certainly visualise a great end product here.

I think a new front door is in order. I don't think it has to be completely faithfully to the original but perhaps something with a long central window (or a three windows) will be the right feel for the house. As far as the roof pitch I don't mind it on the side extension but I feel the porch should have a flat roof. Look at the neighbours for inspiration- it might have had a semicircular flat roof to compliment the bay or there might have been a wider porch that was a continuation of the lintel over the bay window.

Really like the idea of zinc and timber cladding together but equally open to ideas as I am struggling to find the zinc cladding at a reasonable price and local. Can anyone share their exterior finishes / advice on finishes please, to give a little inspiration? Thank you in advance
