Exterior paint colours for Edwardian house
Comments (7)Your colour scheme sounds lovely. I don’t think it will be boring as the style of your house already makes it shine. Here’s a couple of pics of painted houses similar to yours. There have been several Advice posts lately about front door colours which may be of help....See MoreEdwardian staircase colour scheme
Comments (8)If you’re on Instagram, check out semi_in_suburbia. She has a similar panelled hallway and has painted the panelling in F&B Skimming Stone and the wall above in slightly darker Elephants Breath. It’s stunning. Skimming Stone is a gorgeous pale neutral with a hint of grey. Hopefully I’ve posted a pic of her hallway before and after......See MoreEdwardian Semi - extend and reconfigure - Your thoughts on the plans?
Comments (10)How about putting the cinema room where the office and WC were planned? Then add in WC on right (where cinema sofa was planned for) and then have a study space on the left - creating an open hallway between study and WC through to the extension? Study would have to be more of a cupboard really - desk with shelves above, with doors that can close at the end of the day to hide all the mess - more of a homework/computer station than a proper home office. Think you've got to decide whether you want a proper office or a cinema room, as walking through cinema room would be a negative for me. Or is there enough space in current dining room to section off the left side of it for hallway to extension and leave enough space on the right for cinema (or study and shower/WC)?...See MoreHelp with plan 1930's semi
Comments (2)Its unfortunate you've got so many load bearing walls to go through, that will always be expensive I'm afraid. There are some things you could do to trim costs (some I think you've already worked out which is good) Changing the wc so the toilet is on the outside wall will make it much cheaper then trying to go inside. keeping the french window the size the window currently is will be cheaper as widening a window is arguable harder then putting a new one in. I'd back what Sarh123 said, if any were helpfull / friendly ask them if they can work out a way to trim the costs, it could be as simple as knocking a foot or two or the length of one of theose major beams....See Morerinked
