I've got quite a lot of furniture second hand, including both dressers (although the top half of one has been repurposed as a tall table/stand of sorts), a bed, mirrors, tables, a conservatory three piece bamboo suite (£50) and ikea bar stools. Also inherited a tall pine chest of drawers and one half of the bunk bed I slept in as a child. My parents are always telling me to let it go but I don't see why I should- I have a lot of memories associated with it and an idea to turn it into a mezzanine style bed to free up floor space in a small bedroom.

Hello Minnie, There will be the hallway and some in the bedroom. Yes gee whizz, I prefer to design than actually do in this case. Painting I find enjoyable but papering definitely not so much. Your sons room sounds quite a difficulty so gr8 for you that you managed, and I can definitely see how you would feel a sense of achievement. I do feel quite pleased with how it all ties in. I also just used a paint brush to brush it all and no plumb line.. Normal scissors and a sense of urgency.. Yes the size was quite a dramatic feeling. It's not a small room I don't think, and it's just as it is shot wise but the dark on dark made the whole thing feel larger and more elegant. The paper is Oreste Carbon by Zoffany. Thank you yes the tapes on the frames, I do like a mix of old and new and I use my picture rails so I thought it a good way of showing. Ah the lamp .. It's broken in 3 places and held together with glue and plumbing seals.. It was from Graham and Green but over 10 years ago. Never seen anything like it since, not sure if somewhere like eBay would have something similar.. and it's rather tricky on uneven boards. I have a large marble weight that sits on its base as the counter balance doesn't really allow for anything but the most even of flooring. Got a few flowers from Oka and thank you for telling me, I did look in my emails to find code. Waiting for a payment for a day from October so should not have really. It's one of those things where you have to buy a few at a time for several months till you can achieve a really fantastic display. Yes Bob has her ways but so gorgeous I try to give her things and the door mat is a good one too but somehow... Like the sound of the book that may have to go on my list.. Love the veggie lunch.. I am down to chicken occasionally and fish regularly. will be looking for a recipe for the stained glass biscuits.. :))

We were going for the 3 seater + the chaise, so it'd be wide. Then the footstool as well so when it's just us two we can create 2 chaises for ultimate comfort. We considered a 3 seater + 2 seater but the room is awkwardly shaped / laid out for that. We wanted something large enough for multiple people to sit on if we have visitors. The 3 seater on its own with the footstool would make for smaller width as you'd lose the + chaise seat, know what I mean? Unless we did a 3 seater plus a chair. With the TV in one corner and the wood stove in the other, I can't figure out how to place two sofas without one of them being back / side on to something or blocking it.

Hi Charlotte, Zssu the upholsterer again. My go to fabric for a lot of customers atm is a fabric guard protected linen look called splash by Warwick fabrics. Another one they have is their Krayola fabric. You can really scrub this stuff! Get a sample and try it out with tomato ketchup. It comes in a great colour range. I have been an upholsterer for 30 yrs and I know what is inside modern sofas. I have had clients pay 5k on a sofa and I know it is made of particle board. Manufacturers get around it by saying it’s hardwoods, but it is hard wood particle board. The joints are all bolted, no tenon joints and after time the particle board is eaten away by the bolts and it creaks. Also you remove the fabric for reupholstery and the staples just pull out chunks of the board! Real throw-away stuff after a few years. I would advise anyone when buying a sofa to run their hands underneath the sofa along the bottom rails, if you find anything narrower than 5cm be very wary.
