Bathrooms Design Dilemma

To tile trim or not to trim?!

We’re doing the bathroom and using grey/beige tiles with grey grout on walls. Should we use a tile trim or leave raw? We have window recess to tile as well. If using a trim - what colour/type would you recommend? Thank you :)

I wouldn’t leave tile edges exposed unless they were made to be used that way (glazed edges) or they were butted up against a wall. I’d go for a trim.

What is your colour scheme? You could match the trim to your bathroom hardware.

I agree with @Wumi (again 😁). I think an aluminium trim would be good.

Hi, If you haven't already purchased the trims, I've just done a quick search and found that places like topps tiles do aluminium trims in different trims including grey if they are of any interest to you. How to ‘trim’ down 1930s tiles fireplace

Hi i have a 1930s house with lots of original features, one of them being a tired fireplace. Some of the tiles have fallen/broken off the corner of the hearth and the rest of the hearth is very fragile, also alot of the tiles have fallen off the ‘fire surround’ part of the fire, with the insert being perfectly in tact and seemingly stable. My question is... I have bout a 1930s teak fire surround which I thought I could remove the hearth and use the tiles for a flat to the floor and ‘trim’ off the sides of the original fire and put the wood surround on top of it... how would I trim it to size? I went down to cdt tile just now as they said I can bring it into the trade section. The one colour I thought it might work with - someone nicked the sample 🙄 but it will have to do as everything else was too dark or too light 🙈 I got some trims that don't quite match but going to see which is the least offensive. I wanted a brushed brass one for the sink but it's a 2 day special order so have to skip that 😬 I'm not sure on the tile but one side wil have a cut edge so presume it will need a trim?

I would definitely go with a tile trim that matches the tiles, so light grey would be best. My bathroom has been completing refurbished and we used a Carrera marble effect tile with a light grey tile trim. It looks beautiful. We also have chrome taps. Good luck on whatever colour you decide on.

A trim does tidy things up. As I’m not keen of shiny, we used a white trim, but I wonder if a mid grey would be better for you, assuming they do a grey?

They’re from Wickes Avellino Cappuccino. Really cheap but they look fab!
