Colour ideas for accessories and soft furnishings. Please help
Comments (7)Hi Loula, I would probably start with a geometric rug in grey and white. A shape mirroring that of the chair detailing. This will also still be crisp and contemporary like the rest of the space. Cushions in white will help tie the colours throughout the space rather than just having blocks of it. A large piece of art of work in the same colours on the wall behind the dining table would really work.. maybe a peaceful seascape to add a bit of tranquillity to an area for relaxing. Finish with a few accessories on the table and beside the TV to help bridge the gaps. Grey is a great contemporary colour that will work well with the scheme you have started. You now just need a few more layers to really bring it to life. At the end, as Liz suggested, you could add a single punch of a great colour to add a little warmth - my suggestions would be burnt orange or a deep rich purple. Comments (3)Hi Melanie, Some art prints would really elevate this space and make it yours. You've got a great wall above your dining room that would hang a large print or gallery wall. Have you had a look on sites like Etsy or Society6? They have a lot of fantastic and affordable designs, and you're directly supporting the artist. Here's some ideas for lighting, soft furnishings and other accessories: Cirque Pendant Lamp L'Oiseau Bird ornanment Corniches shelving Luna mirrors | Scarpa sideboard | Cancan coat rack Graphic print pillow Love Nelson Ball Clock I recommend using Pinterest to keep track of prints and ideas for accessories that you like. Enjoy your research! Phoebe...See Moreneed help with how to furnish this space
Comments (6)I would say you’re nearly there. I think it’s quite usual to have a crisis of confidence at this stage! I think the table needs changing - the wood doesn’t work with the floor and there’s no other wood in the room. It also looks a bit lost there. Maybe a rug to anchor it might help although personally I’m not a fan of dining tables on rugs but something is needed. For me, the door being the same colour as the wall makes it more difficult as it’s such a long bare space without anything really to divide it up. So I think a sideboard / storage (maybe tall storage) along the wall to the right of the door would be good, with a mirror / artwork above if a sideboard. Some artwork behind sofa plus either tall floor lamp or floor standing plants would help. The kitchen area looks good so I don’t think anything major is needed there. You could consider some window treatment, even if just decorative to add some warmth to the space. We didn’t have any curtains or blinds on the windows / doors along the back of our bungalow for 2 years after renovating as we weren’t overlooked but when we finally chose some, it instantly made the space feel more cosy & homely, so maybe something to consider....See MoreHelp furnishing & decorating bathroom
Comments (11)It appears that you have no other storage in the bathroom? If that is so then I would add a mirrored wall cabinet either above the loo as you suggest, or on the adjacent wall next to the rad. I love the round one below, but it doesn’t seem to have much storage space. A couple of wooden shelves would look lovely for spare towels and a nice trailing plant on whatever bare wall you have left. I think a wooden cabinet would look nice with the wall colour. As to mixing metals, it’s personal taste, I don’t mind it and brass is rather lovely....See Morehedgehog99
