Combi boiler housing

We are renovating our smallish kitchen and struggling to incorporate the combi boiler which is in a very odd position; into our design. To relocate it on the other wall we been quoted £800 which is biting into our budget very much. Also at the moment when service is needed the whole content of the cabinet and the cabinet itself has to come off the walI. I would like to get the best out of the design, since is a small space I need every inch of workspace/ storage space. Please give me ideas how and where to look for suitable kitchen.

Hi- have you considered not having the wall cabinet that is currently blocking the front of the boiler? You could then put a cabinet carcass over the front of the boiler to hide it, and perhaps some shallow shelves in the space of the existing cabinet. Depending upon dimensions, your fitter could cut down the back and wall side of the unit and mount them so that it looks like normal wall unit. Plus if you made it a tall wall unit, (reaching down towards the worktop) you could have shelving underneath the boiler and fitted around the pipes.

Doing this would involve rethinking your existing wall cabinet layout, but if you can make it work it’s by far better than spending £800 to move it.

I feel your pain with an eyesore boiler. I spent 8 long years hating the looks of mine before we remodelled, then ages agonising over where to move it , and ultimately hid it by rethinking our cabinet layout.

Who on earth would put a cupboard in front of a boiler like that? I would remove the cupboard next to it to give Engineers access. I also wonder if the boiler could be moved to that adjacent wall (where the cupboard is). You can then cover it with a cupboard if you wish.

I think you may be conflating 2 issues. The first is whether your water pressure is good enough to serve two showers at the same time. That depends on your mains water pressure and the flow rate of your showers. This would still be an issue if you had the second shower as an ordinary electric one, If pressure is sufficient, The second issue is whether your boiler can heat the water quickly enough. Our pressure was low so when renovating we ended up upgrading the water pipe in to house to 22mm, and having a pressurised feeder tank installed as well as a hot water tank because our pressure could otherwise not replenish the hot water tank as fast as we could empty it. Would a solution be to have an electric power shower that is cold feed only?

Thanks @rinq and @Maths Wife, there are definitely a lot of things to think about, although it looks like there is a general consensus going on over some of the areas like toilet/boiler etc. I need to check in with the plumber on putting the boiler on the left of the window, as you can see from @rinq plan there is a new wall going on the outside and this may cause issues with required regs distances from windows etc. I like the idea of a wooden counter for the bowls, and carrying this into the alcove would be a neat idea. Im going to change the storage/cupboard from double doors to just one sliding door, with a walk in area and shelves either side. As the two doors are a nightmare. In the same predicament. I believe it can be vented through the roof so that could either be in the side area you are extending in to or just past the current rear wall and out the pitched roof. Here's an example, this is what we're hoping to do anyway. If you post your plans people might be able to help more
