Anyone used RAL7006 (beige grey) on windows and doors?

Has anyone installed windows/doors in RAL7006? I'm thinking of using it as an alternative to anthracite, as would like to have a warmer neutral, but dithering a bit as it's not a colour you see very often. Has anyone used this colour on their exterior and can share pics/thoughts?

My windows are RAL7039 out, RAL9010 in (house itself is RAL9010), I love it! Front door is almost black (ebony). Even found a RAL7039 mailbox.

Having just googled this colour, it looks very similar to a colour used on lots of new expensive developments around where we live in Cambridge. Personally I think it is really classy and the bronze colour is definitely warmer than anthracite.

I've chosen RAL 7039 for my windows which is a similar colour to RAL 7006 but darker. I am pleased that RAL 7039 is not a colour which is seen very often.

I chose it because I too want a warm neutral and an alternative to anthracite grey which is too blue/purple for my taste. RAL 7039 seems to work well with the house's brickwork, mortar colour, concrete roof tiles and the proposed timber cladding on our new extension. Before I made a decision I tested several colours by purchasing Dulux Trade Ral Colour paint samples (250ml pots) which I painted onto lining paper and stuck up on the outside of the house. I loved RAL 7039 as soon as I painted it onto the lining paper, unlike the other sample colours which were ok but nothing special, so I was really pleased that the colour works with the house.

I also think Ral 7039 will blend in with the neighbouring houses which have dark windows - mainly 80s mahogany/rosewood windows - but will look more contemporary. Fingers crossed it doesn't let me down.

If you like RAL 7006 go for it.

I would go with black upvc windows at the front I think they would look really classy and different. I have an original 1930s round bay window fronted house with the original leaded lights they are beautiful mine is one of only two houses on the street with the original windows. As you can imagine they really need replacing but I cannot bear to let them go but if I have to I would be different and go for grey upvc. Or black.

Grey! I absolutely love a different finish to windows. I adore this window: Photo But perhaps you should got for a white internal frame to reflect daylight into your home unless you're going for a "designer" look inside too. You can easily design uPVC windows with online configurators such as this one http://bit.ly/2a556KD (full disclosure, this is a sister website of Sterlingbuild).

We went for it - the photo is a little further up the feed before we had the drive done and painted the hanging tiles to match. We get lots of comments from passers by that they love it but i'd still love to get it rendered so they really pop rather that it be so dark.

White or grey windows?

I went for painting the whole of the bottom ( or render and paint -) in a warm dark brown / grey to tie in with the dark in the brick. On my screen Ral 8019 worked well. I then went either with keeping the windows white as it still works or going with a lighter beige / grey to tone in with the Ral on the walls. I also paved the driveway in a complementing stone, added a trellis in the same colour as the windows to make more sense of the bland space at the front, where you would presume a door to be.

Thank you both - you've helped bring my dithering (well, at least on this particular aspect of our renovation!) to a close. RAL7006 it is!

Thank you. Photo was taken 2 years ago, so it was fun to browse through our photos and see this little man on most of them. He's our little contractor, always doing quality control and surveying the work we're doing.

How did the RAL 7006 look when it was done? Did you use it inside and out? I’m thinking of using the same colour and just found this thread whilst googling around the subject.

From experience with using RAL Colours can be hit and Miss match. Interesting to hear back
