Interior design - ideas for a house renovation and wrap around extensi
Comments (13)Hello R Countryside, In terms of designing any one aspect of your home, I would be looking at the entire project in order to be best informed as to how to treat any one area. Having a cohesive scheme throughout gives not only a well thought and professional finish to a home but provides flow throughout.. I would be focusing on you and your home in order to give you the designed home you really want. Tapping into what you really like-Taking into consideration how you use your home and the needs and requirements you have for it. My idea of kitchen for example has none of the betty crocker elements but offers a more stylish ideal as to what a kitchen needs to be so you don't get something that is the same as every other, so it's a beautiful room in its own right.... For truly stylish design you need someone who's looking at every aspect not just spatially.. My range of services include design, styling, specification and procurement.. Also consider if you're working with any existing pieces or furnishings as these need to be woven into the scheme beautifully... :))...See MoreRear extension options!
Comments (7)Hello. I love option 2 most. It feels much better to walk into the space with the kitchen there and much nicer working in the space over looking the garden. As you say, it's also a big plus to be able to also see both dining and seating areas too. Obviously I don't know near enough about the property or your needs to say whether this works for you but an alternative to lose the long living room which may mean you end up with wasted space - would be too lose the utility and move the bathroom down the hallway unto the now marked utility. Making the hallway bigger to enter the kitchen further down. You could then have a utility/boot-room at the front of the property moving through to the kitchen in the heart of the home - looking over the dining and living at the end which both look out over the garden/patio are with as much glass as possible :) Just another idea. I hope I have helped. Gina...See MoreLantern roof or vaulted roof on small orangery? Pics please!
Comments (5)I see what you mean. I disagree that it will look wrong, I think it's difficult to make it look right. It has to sit well with the rest of the house and that's the hard part. Your current window colour makes things the hardest. To put brown windows in the orangery just won't look nice. Any grey tone would look nice, but then the windows need to match everywhere really. A lovely tasteful shaped orangery in white always looks great, but again, all your windows and doors need to match. I'd extend the patio to, wrapping it around the Orangery and making that the feature point of the rear of the house. I know this is 'grand plans', but hopefully you'll see what i mean....See Moregap in roof tile - is this a problem?
Comments (9)Hello, was your extension completed recently? Just say to your builder you are not happy with the way the tile has been cut and finished and ask them to re-cut it so that it covers the whole gap. I also had a similar issue...well all roof tiles were originally fine, then the plumber had to go on to roof, on the way down he cracked a tile, so I told the builder, he sent someone round to replace tile. I checked the work and it looked fine, then when they left, I had another look and they cracked the same tile they replaced on the way down! So they came back do replace again, only this this time they didn’t cut the tile very well and left a gap like yours ( slightly bigger too ), so they need to come back and fix it again. I haven’t had any leaks yet but I can’t stand slap dash work....See MoreUser
