Edwardian House layout with floorplans.
Comments (17)Has so much potential!! As a concept planner, looking at this i would ask for lots and lots more info on how many people live there - ages of any children (ie do they need supervision or not ) - garden facing N?E? S? W ? Etc How far off extension as might be better to delay kitchen improvement till this built. Any party walls - window placements etc etc It's great to get some creative ideas going at the moment ! When you are in, and can measure properly, then you can ramp it up a notch ! I'd start by booking a 'walk around' with a competent builder if I were you . Ask which walls can go - which can stay - which doors can easily be moved etc . Then armed with as much detailed info as you can get either post again for some free help, or approach a pro to work with on this !...See MoreEnd of terrace Edwardian house side entrance ownership - problem!
Comments (9)Thanks for your advice. I haven't actually looked on the government's ppw. The floor is probably quite a bit higher inside the property, and the opening could well be lower than 1.7 (more than likely exactly 1.7m!!) My gripe is the fact that once opened it encroaches into my area, which I would like to 'develop', and an open window would prevent me from doing this. Then there's the security issue - quite a dark space, and we've already had one recent incident where thieves breaking in to neighbouring houses, crossed gardens and then used my alleyway to escape....See MoreExterior paint colours for Edwardian house
Comments (7)Your colour scheme sounds lovely. I don’t think it will be boring as the style of your house already makes it shine. Here’s a couple of pics of painted houses similar to yours. Comments (10)Hello, It sounds like you have some great and really exciting ideas to make your home an even better fit for your family. An open plan kitchen dining room would be a great way of boosting family space and allowing the layout to feel more open and spacious. Bi fold doors looking out to the garden would be a great way of boosting light in the space - you could look at having the kitchen/dining room in the reception room looking out into the garden. Have any of your neighbours successfully had an extension? From the plan you do have space to play with, without having to extend. It may just involve making a few internal alterations and looking at what you currently have that does work and what doesn't work. There's lots of ways to maximise kitchen storage, from having drawers that you can stack fully meaning no wasted space, to tall wall units and pantry units that are specifically a food cupboard. I hope this helps give you some more ideas and possible things to consider. If you would like any design and layout help with the kitchen/dining room then please do let me know as we have plenty of options from just starting out on brainstorming layout ideas to a full bespoke design.
