Navy Bedroom Refurb Help!

We have a large navy velvet upholstered bed with wooden frame... I really need to add a colour on one or 2 walls and I'm not a fan of bright colours and prefer more natural/neutral muted tones. Can anyone please advise what I should go for! Thanks!!

I have this book by Hans Blomquist. It features lots of beautiful colour palettes mixed with colours of nature, for example, deep blues with browns etc. It might be worth a browse. I love blues with browns and so something like Mouses Back (F&B) might be worth a look. Little Greene Stone collection also has some options.

Your bedroom has a very beautiful light. Painting it with any colour will make it darker, how about changing black details for some colourful once? Chair, lamp, colourful bedding. However if you decide to paint it I would go for soft and warm green or warm beige. I discourage to have mirrors in bedroom. If its necessary to have them, they should be covered or hidden when not used especially while sleeping. Seeing the whole room I could give you more tips. Can you add some more pictures?

Hi. I think any dark, rich colour could work well (would paint the skirts in the wall colour) but if you didn't want to paint the furniture either a really deep teal or inky blue would work well. Perhaps use ochre or burnt orange as accent colours or moss or emerald/grass green work really well with an inky blue. I assume the ceilings aren't tanked so you'll need a ceiling fix pole? Having floor to ceiling curtains will make it feel taller. I'd also have a tall portrait leaner mirror on the wall opposite the window to make it feel taller and to bounce light (do you know where the stud work is for attaching things to walls?) Could you have a light weight canvas hung on the chimney breast attached with those sticky pads? Agree re lighting and would also add 1/2 floor lamps. Is an electric stove in budget for the chimney? My only reservation is dark walls against a white ceiling. I think my basement is the same height and I deliberated for ages and in the end painted it all white :) there is an argument that dark ceilings can create depth as you can't see where they end.. also an argument re white gloss or Matt finish for the ceilings! If you did go for dark walls though i might consider a mid shade for the ceiling

Hi Claire, Do the doors actually open inwards into the room? How about considering place the bed in the center of the room facing the doors? You would disguise the back of the bed with a thin console table which have some dressing style storage (jewelry etc) and can hold some tall flowers and candles to set the mood on entering. There's lots of ways you can add the luxury feel you are looking but this would create real impact and make the bed the real feature of the space. If budget allows I would hang lights from the ceiling ad beside lights and layer up on dressing for an even more luxurious feel. I have attached one of my clients bedroom design (single room re-design package) to show you the hanging lighting idea - if this isn't possible then a well placed small chandelier style light would have a great effect on the space. I am also struggling to know what to do for a window covering, wether I go for curtains, blinds or shutters? It's a large 3m long window and I'm totally lost on what sort to go for to suit the neutral/natural theme... Would you have any suggestions please?

I would go for something natural and textured such as these heavy linen relaxed curtains. You could always add an edging in navy.

Hello, im looking for some bedside tables to go with the mouseback F&B paint and the Navy Velvet bed with woodenedge frame which i have. Would you have any suggestions within a reasonable budget? ive looked through a lot of websites but struggling to see what it would look like next to what i have - i would prefer one with drawers, white seems to be a bit too modern for what i am looking for so would a dark wooden or a beige wood be a better alternative? happy to see your thoughts! thanks a lot
