Hallway decor help!
Comments (8)Sage green is a great colour. I've used it in one of the rooms in our place. It's quite a soft colour, and suits pictures in wood frames, and loves houseplants. Rose pink is actually a great colour but I think needs quite a strong decorating theme to stop it looking old fashioned. We have used it for our living room, and it will be teamed with white marble, black and brass accents etc to stop it being too feminine. As Man About The House Says, painting the front door and paying attention to lighting will make all the difference. If you use warm temperature LED f"filament" style bulbs, or a copper/brass reflective pendant light, you will make it cosier and bring out the warm tones in any paint you use. Cool light bulbs will make it colder. I am using different bulb temps in different rooms to bring out the colours the way I want them - pick colours for how the natural light falls during the day, and change/maintain them in the evenings with your artificial lighting....See MoreHallway organisation & decor

Comments (13)Hi Leah. I like the new storage. I'd keep it quite simple. A wooden shelf over the radiator with a round mirror over the top. Add a vase of eucalyptus, candles, diffuser etc on the shelf. Radiator I would just paint in the wall colour If you do paint. If you want you could add a couple of the hooks at the bottom of the stairs for hanging bags, a hat etc and then maybe a belly basket where the box is for kids gloves, scarves etc. I think it would tie in nicely to your living room....See MoreHallway decor - help needed
Comments (6)You actually have a great hallway. Not sure the ceiling lights will add much so do consider spotlights angled to highlight your artwork. Have a look at the hallway in this link. https://www.houzz.ie/hznb/photos/melody-road-phvw-vp~107673833. This would not cost much using a standard radiator cover and get a glazing company to do as large a mirror as you can fit. You could easily go dark on the stairs as you seem to have good light. I would think about painting the door a lighter colour if you can. If not, consider painting the surrounding wall to match so it fades away. Consider replacing both units in the wider area with a decent shoe storage unit or consider getting one made. Alternatively, if you are on a small budget, paint that storage unit the same as the walls. Add a shelf to your other unit and use for shoes. You do need coat hanging space so how about that blank wall and just add a long coat rail....See MoreLzr
