Hallway decor - help needed
Am in the middle of house redecorating and have run out of steam. I really need the hallway to create the right first impression on entering the home. All suggestions will be welcome.
Need a runner, 2x new sets of ceiling lights preferably semi flush, colour suggestions for bannister etc.

Comments (13)Hi Leah. I like the new storage. I'd keep it quite simple. A wooden shelf over the radiator with a round mirror over the top. Add a vase of eucalyptus, candles, diffuser etc on the shelf. Radiator I would just paint in the wall colour If you do paint. If you want you could add a couple of the hooks at the bottom of the stairs for hanging bags, a hat etc and then maybe a belly basket where the box is for kids gloves, scarves etc. I think it would tie in nicely to your living room....See MoreHelp decorating hallway

Comments (6)You'll have to get a few tester pots to try around your hallway. Every colour of paint changes depending on which way the room faces and different light coming in. 2 years agoI've added a better photo (in the comments) showing the whole hallway better so you can see the whole space. Does this change your recommendations?
I know what you mean about the tall unit being blocking - it's a recent addition for shoe storage otherwise there are shoes upon shoes cluttering the front door. Any suggestions on how to work around this?
Love the idea of artwork, was thinking a large piece on the empty wall closest to the wooden console table. Agree with the suggestion for a black frame.
What do you think about painting the bannister in a dark colour as opposed to white and leaving the top with the natural wood colour exposed?
Lighting wise I want something semi-flush. Dont think downlighters will add anything to the space. I need 2x semi flush light fittings and 1x wall light. Would you repeat the same light fitting for continuity (as we currently have) or something different?
