Paint and decor help!
Comments (11)it looks nice (daft word) but does it feel nice to be in there? The blue is very dark and next to the white creates quite a strong contrast which may not feel harmonious (hard to say unless you experience it). Because of the big wall of cupboards it looks like it could go round the corner up to them to create a cosy nook. If it feels too dark and oppressive then paint over it. A softer paler but dirty blue may feel a bit more relaxing, especially if painted all over....See MoreLiving Room Decoration Help
Comments (1)Am thinking the alcove naturally lends itself to TV position if using this idea. Elsewhere in the room and it will simply encroach on your floor space. It would mean your current lounge in it's current position would be close to the TV - but if it is a flush as possible it might just work. The sideboard might have to leave it's position and go beside the door....See MoreBedroom Decor Help!
Comments (5)A dark laminate accent wall has a modern urban feel together with the glass wardrobe sliding doors. Minimalist modern furnirure would go well, if you want to embrace the look. I would change the carpet to a light flooring or lighter carpet, tbh. Depending on what style you like, you could investigate painting the wall. There is a paint for laminate flooring on the market, you could explore. You also can change the wardrobe doors, if you are looking for a softer quiter scheme....See MoreLiving room accessories/decor help
Comments (7)What you have done is lovely, it just needs tweaking. How about placing one large, or two flat weave rugs in Aqua underneath your existing rug, which would soften the impact of the teal walls. Paint behind shelves in aqua, the graduation of one colour always help to tie a scheme together. Could you gather objects in groups on the shelves, in threes and in different heights and leave some breathing spaces between? (There are tutorials on this subject!) Search for a few vases/ornaments in key colours. An different style armchair together with your little side tables in the bay window could be a Reading Nook, would make the room feel larger. A patterned one with some ochre/yellow and a plain cushion would warm up the room. Agree about the mirror, large, round and gold/brass would liven and warm up the room, the width of fireplace if possible. As others have commented, wood and metal (natural) elements help to ground a room. I think you are nearly there…well done!...See MoreUser
