Small boys bedroom ideas

Hi my son is 6 and I am having trouble finding how to style his bedroom, he has chosen this vault bedside table and the zigzig wall stencil. Was thinking of painting his bedroom walls in white and using a dark blue for stencil zig zag lines.now I am not too sure on colours, what do you reckon. I want to keep his bedroom light and airy as it's a small bedroom but also give it wow factor. He has a white wood based bed and a pax white glass sliding door wardrobe he also has a kallax unit where he keeps his toys. Thinking it might look like a bit of a mismatch. Any help with what materials to combine the bedside table colour for walls, curtains etc.also his bed is against the wall so should I make the headboard wall a feature or the other wall. What could I do for feature. Please I could do with any tips advise you may be able to help me with.

I don't think the style needs to match too much as its a boys room however scandi and industrial work well. Maybe add some industrial lighting, the lightbulb style work well with scandi too, and artwork be it graphic or typography etc obviously suitable for his age. I like the idea of steel velvet curtains and the grey walls too as the furniture is white. Use his favourite colour for cushions, bookshelves, art etc. Maybe a sheepskin rug as they’re cosy to sit on and will add texture

What a great bedside! I think just doing one wall in the paper and keeping the other walls unpatterned will enable you to combine both. Let the patterned wall be the feature. The other white units will go well. Am thinking a warm gray paint, you need a soothing shade to set the right settling mood in the evening for sleep. A steel gray in a velvet or heavy cotton for window dressings and the bedside will shine in the room. Some twinkle lights for a bit of evening magic, or some flourecent stickers for the ceiling to glow softly when the lights are out. Maybe a drawing board set to a wall for a fun spot? A teepee?

A photo would be great, thanks. My imagination is failing me! The chest of drawers is fine but I really just put it there instead of getting rid of it when we changed our main bedroom furniture. Was surprised to find it fitted perfectly! I don't think we could attach it to the wall where it is because it's just a paper thin partition to a wardrobe in the other room. It's pretty big for the room if we move it out the alcove.

Thanks minnie101, I found this print he likes, maybe I could place it on the wall long side of bed. What grey colour should I go for any recommendations the room doesn't have too much light in, also thinking of making a headboard made out of wood planks although not sure which colour to stain

Wood would go well with both industrial and scandi light style. Look at some ikea hack ideas on Pinterest to add wood and personalise ikea kalax and pax to go well with your bedside table and print. You can do a shiplap headboard or the whole wall

Love the bedside! We’ve not long moved house and decorated rooms for 2 sons- it is a bit of a challenge trying to incorporate the things they love with things that look good! We went for a mix in the end- flooring and furniture that they won’t age out of and then gave them free reign with “art” and accessories. It’s their room, I’d rather it reflects their interests than items perfectly complement each other.

Definitely Vicky, my 6 year old is very vocal on what she likes and dislikes, whereas my 11year old girl doesn't make up her mind.
