Thank you! I don't have access to the exact dimensions, but it is a fairly narrow and long space.

Oh wow, impressive space you have there! It's huge! And thank you - I love my house too :)) Plus I agree with you on the dining room - only good for dusting :)) Regarding wood vs carpet: we chose Engineered Character Oak in brushed oil - mainly because, having to completely renovate the house, we decided to go for underfloor heating top to bottom; and engineered wood is apparently the best type of wood to use with it. Therefore, carpeting was out for us however, even with central heating, we would've probably gone for wooden flooring and a lush rug. But that is a personal preference; as with the en-suites, I have rather strong opinions against carpet, so I don't think I'm the best person to advise you in this respect. (hmmm, now I'm starting to get what hubby means about me being high maintenance...) Sorry I couldn't help more, I'll try to do better in the future :))

I would do exactly the same! The snug by the garden makes so much sense! You would enjoy watching the seasons pass by etc ... a kitchen is a working area: it’s nice to have a view, but you mostly look at what you are doing/washing/cooking! Also, having 3 kids myself, albeit not toddlers anymore, I just think a downstairs toilet is essential! Also, think about super effective storage for the toys: maybe a tall cupboard, you can close the doors on the mess. I wouldn’t worry about not seeing your children at all times: if your garden is kids proof and safe, that’s fine! Besides, the stage of keeping-an-eye-on-them-at-all-times doesn’t last that long! Enjoy an exciting project!

I think you need to measure things better. To my eye it looks like your wc is too small and the real thing will have too little leg room. I think the vanity looks too shallow (so getting into the WC corner will be tight) and the shower looks like it will be 1200x700 but 1200x900 would be much nicer to stand in. Furthermore I think the wardrobe you have drawn is big enough for hanging rails on only two sides not three. (If it’s 1.9m wide at it’s widest point and a rail of clothes is 60cm deep this leaves only a 70cm space in the middle which will feel tight). And I suspect the ceiling beam will be visible and for this reason I think you will feel more comfortable if it is over your bedside table rather than over your pillow so I would move the bed closer to the window. In conclusion even if you make the ensuite narrower but longer, even if you make the wardrobe wider you will still have a whopping bedroom that will be the envy of others.

Hi everyone, I am thinking about arranging the lights in the apartment. Below is the arrangement of the rooms and the probable arrangement of the furniture. (btw. The color of the furniture is pretty random. The walls will probably be light olive or light beige.) The living room + workplace: Apart from office lamps, I think about LEDs attached to desks or to the ceiling. It would give a nice ambient light while working or watching movies on a projector. Please, advise. I am also thinking of giving some LEDs behind the sideboard to attract attention (sideboard will be white or wooden) and track lighting (with Hue Philips or sth) above a sofa to read a book and to have light for the coffee table (forgot to add the model). Will I need some main light source when there are so many LEDs and these 3 bulbs above the sofa? Any other ideas? Please, advise. (BTW. windows face south). The hall: I think 3 ceiling tube lights would be enough. It should be able to illuminate the hall and the wardrobe inside. Should they be further away from the closet? Too close to the closet can look odd. The light switches for the hall and living room will be mounted on that wall. Bedroom annex: Same as in the hall + above the bed headboard maybe 2 sconce (some concrete examples would be nice) or some LED stick wall lamp (though it will be hard to read a book in bed): BUT I think the best and the most expensive option would be false ceiling with RGB LED strip (to create a mood :D) and 3 spot lights above headboard and 3 near the closet. Theoretically, a book shelves separating the "bedroom" and the living room would cover this jump caused by the false ceiling. But in practice it may look bad. Can be a bit overwhelming / claustrophobic. Although the LEDs will add quite a lot of depth. hmmm Have you ever met with something like this? The kitchen: LEDs under the cabinets and 3 track lighting (or 3 ceiling tube lights) above working countertop. Will I also need a main light source? Should i add the track lightning above the window too (blue line)? Kitchen is not that small but tricky because of the huge window. The kitchen will have such fronts and a countertop (probably). And i think that is it. I appreciate for any answers and ideas. I would love to hear other suggestions for example for arranging furniture and plants (maybe instead of this large plant in the living room I will give a hanging pot and put an air purifier on the floor? There are 2 heating pipes in the corner.) Thank you! :)
