Carpet choice to go with farrow and ball shadow white

We are psinting our house throughtout in farrow and ball shadow white . completely stuck on what carpet to go with it

Hi Julie! I would say it really depends on the amount of light that comes in.

If your house feels bright in the inside, you could go for a darker shade of carpet such as deep blue, alternatively a warm chalk beige or caramel brown should work well too!

I would be tempted to ask if they can just undercoat the fireplace and then get it painted in situ when you have decided on the rest of the colour scheme. Wevet goes nice with the colours from strong white to purbeck stone on f&b chart and also goes with pavilion grey. It's probably a safe bet but it's worth asking if they can wait to paint the top coat until you've had time to decide.

Hello Harriet, Yes I suggest this method of painting at half height, without the addition of beading in the form of dado a lot. I love this and, if you don't have it, you don't need it.. With regards to the height you need to go, it depends on the height of the ceiling in the space considered. So it could be dado height which is roughly the top of the back of a chair but could easily be much higher depending on my next point that compliments Minnie's.. Also depends on whether you want to do the same for picture rail or lack thereof... So you could actually use 3 colours and the top where picture rail would go take this colour up to and over the ceiling.. So there's choice between how many colours.. I also like to include all the woodwork and so again there's a variety of ways.. The same or a shade or two lighter or darker than wall colour.. Take into account the flooring and size of the space as this too will help you decide what and how much.. If you want less contrast work with shades of the same palette, that way you achieve a look with less contrast which you may find easier to deal with.. You can also use the same with the idea of skirting or lack thereof... Pictured.. It's a dark interior but you can see the principle can be applied in a variety of ways.. : ))

I've recently discovered the joy of blowing all my spare money on farrow and ball paint. I have a double living room (2 rooms knocked into one, with an arch separating) One side is Blackened and the other soon to be Arsenic, above the picture rail and the rail it's self is All White. Question is Would Brassica look a bit too much on the skirting board and floor boards? Should I go with a grey instead and if so which one? I already have a grey carpet which is worn out and very messed up, I don't much care for the grey(too bland). I'm not afraid of colour and don't mind a bit of clashing, all my furniture is an eyesore too(painted chairs, partners ugly desk, my wood desk, white couch, green chair, knitted throws, dark wood coffee table, pine tv cabinate, wicker sofa, the list goes on). One chimney breast is black and other a dark blue. I'm not thinking of anything paired back, I want a eclectic/bohemian feel. Cameras broke but here's the room before I repainted.

Sometimes a darker colour can feel cosier than a 'weaker' version of the same colour. If you have a good balance of lighter warmer tones it may work. It does seem strange though that it is described as having no cold tones. This colour in a poorly lit room on a rainy day will not feel warm, but with good lighting it will feel cosy if that makes sense.
