Empty corner space in living room
Comments (22)Thanks everyone, some great ideas here. I think I'm going to go for a big modern lamp, although the idea of a Tiffany lamp has me thinking. Adding a bold bit of colour. I won't go for a table as I think I've got too much oak and furniture in the room. Had looked at a corner unit and there are some fantastic ones around. But again it's another piece of furniture. I'm not discounting the plant idea either but will decide in the next few days. It's just strange having two sofas instead of the corner unit. I'm going to start by taking down the curtains and getting lighter ones. Will post a picture when I've finished. Thanks for all your input, it's helped a great deal. Comments (2)I would start by thinking about what type of garden you are looking for, do you want to be weeding/adding new plants yearly? Do you have kids or pets if so you might want to think of raised beds. Are you looking for a modern style, more meadow/wild look, clean cut? What kind of house do you have? For example, modern garden might look odd with a Victorian house. What kind of soil do you have? (Chalky, sandy?). Does your garden get full sun/is it shady? Do you want grass or is it paved/has decking? Does it have any existing features to work from such as established plants/trees, raised beds?...See MoreWanting a entrance hall/porch extension with cupboard & downstairs WC

Comments (16)I would wall mount the screen and hide the wiring in the wall. If that’s not possible, how about having a taller unit? We’ve got so used to assuming a ‘tv unit’ is the only furniture we can mount a tv on we’ve forgotten there are other options. I’ve a wall mounted tv on a false chimney breast and the wires feed behind it to an Ikea Besta cupboard with a glass front to which I added some obscuring film so we don’t have to look at the ugly add-ons like the games console and the Sky box, whereas in my last home I could feed all the wires through the metal stud wall and wall mount everything...See Morels1068
