How do you reach the controls on upper dryer?

Very creative, I like it. But how do you reach the controls on the top appliance?

Hi thanks for asking. The top controls are very easy to work the young lady is 5' 6" and reaches them nicely. the photo makes it look taller than it is.

It is worth considering an upstairs laundry. Generally clothes and linen are taken downstairs to wash and sort then taken upstairs again so you could cut out some going up and down stairs. Difficult to advise in detail but here are a few suggestions. It may be cheaper to buy one bigger capacity washing machine and a fast drying big capacity dryer which would take up less space, together with some more childrens' clothes, than carry out expensive building alteration work. Or is there any way two small laundry rooms would suit you - one upstairs and one downstairs? The second one could be tiny - a dryer stacked on a washer in a cupboard. The other thing to consider is a laundry chute from upstairs to a ground floor laundry. (Easy to find with Google). They are not cheap because they have to be fireproof but could save some trudging up and down stairs.

When I worked full time it tended to be Saturday mornings, but now I am at home I do it when I have a load full. Also I like to, when possible, dry my washing outside and so this also has an impact on when I do the washing.

I would suggest pleated blinds. They fit into the frame, can be made into different shapes and are very neat and streamlined....and yes, you can have them electric/ battery operated. I'll pop some pics on for you.

I completely agree that the washer and dryer should be separate otherwise it's going to take you forever to have your clothes ready to wear. I had a Miele washing machine and dryer, but I made the decision to switch over to the Akai washer and dryer. I decided to swith because I'm always looking to try brands that are not over-hyped. I have to say that I'm really impressed with the Akai washer and dryer. Not only were they cheaper, but in my opinion, they perform the same. At the end of the day, were spending crazy amount of money on these devices (some a lot more than others) and they all do the same job. When I ordered my Akai washer and dryer, the washer did come without the filter that collects residue that's easy to access (on many washing machines it can be accessed in the front bottom corner). I contacted the company where I purchased it from and they told me that the factory where they came from made this error with multiple washing machines. They told me that I could get a refund or I could try and find the missing filter online because they didn't have it in stock. Luckily, I was able to find the filter online and the company I purchased the washing machine from reinbursed me for the purchase. All in all, my Akai washer and dryer work really well so I do recommend you investing in it.
