Wall paint colour for new kitchen

I have recently had installed a Howdens Elmbridge porcelain kitchen and I would like to get some ideas for kitchen wall paint colours to the left of the oven, above hob and left wall with window looking into the garden. The work surface is a Silestone white mirror chip quartz. The flooring is Karnedean naturel prime oak. A double window is to the right of the hob in front of the sink. Current wall is Dulux ivory lace on the left.

We have under cabinet lighting with white light.

We have moved away from greys as suggested and bought the samples of shades of green, to assist us with our decision we have painted a patch of the wall white and tried our favourites out of all the samples (29) on it and found the Dulux Apple White was the best choice.

since uploading my dilema i have purchased a number of Dulux paint pot samples (12) and thought i would try shades of grey, why do all the samples on the wall look like shades of lilac and not grey? The wall is cream that the samples are painted on. some help on choosing paints would be appreciated.

Is it north facing? From the little I understand, if there is a cool base colour to the paint, a north facing light will bring it out (there are better ways to describe it but I hope this gives you the jist!)

Depend on the room. If the cabinets are going to cover most of the wall then choose a deep colour.... If you have a lot of wall showing you can still paint it dark but I would probably choose a French grey and faded red accents

You could try yellows or blues. Maybe add a feature floral, chinoiserie or trellis style wallpaper. Add green with plants and maybe a sunburst mirror. Dulux and I think crown do a visulaiser app so you can upload a pic of your room and try various colours. It's a bit tricky to use to start with but you get the hang of it after a few minutes

As a contrast but to prove the colours work together. We have grey units and cream walls, so yes go for it. I think if you have a darker floor and lighter walls, you'll keep the airy theme. I wouldn't bother with named colour paints from the likes of F&B etc, instead as you want to get the shade right, pick your tile, take the tile and a drawer front to any shop that will mix paint and that offers hundreds of shades and get the pale grey right. It needs to be a warm grey to work with cashmere. I think the phrase now is Greige ( Grey / Beige ).

I have similar colour combo kitchen and painted the walls in F&B Light Blue. Looks fab against the cream cabinets, giving a slight vintage feel.

The light in a room can affect how paint colour appears. I used Dulux Polished Pebble in my North facing lounge where it does look like a light soft grey. But the same paint in my West facing bathroom takes on a tinge of lilac in the latter part of the day.

I found many greys have a lilac tinge. I’ve got Polished pebble in my bedroom and it looks a very pale lilac but I don’t mind as I have a deeper lilac feature wall. What colour are your kitchen units? Difficult to tell from your picture. Are they grey?

Thankyou all for your responses. I am answering all the questions as follows:

1. The units colour is Porcelain (Howden's Elmbridge Kitchen Units).

2. The original wall colour is Dulux Ivory Lace.

3. The kitchen and utility room is East facing and the sun is in the rooms in the morning and switches to the front of the house in the afternoon.

4. As advised earlier, all of the grey variants we have tried are coming out in shades of lilac through to mauve/purple unless we go with a deep grey which is too dark for the room.

5. Any help on alternative colours which maintain the airy light feel of the rooms would be very much appreciated including creams etc.

I look forward to your thoughts/suggestions.

Why not pick up the colour of the floor? Grey has had its day anyway and been done to death. Small tiles that echo the floor vibe perhaps in a herringbone pattern would look great.

And, get some lights for under those cupboards. That would bring that space to life.

Echo the suggestion for under cabinet lighting (if not already installed). I think a very pale sage green would bring together the other neutrals. It’s a little bit warm in tone which could play nicely off the whites? Another option would be a subdued yellow.

Slaked Lime by Little Greene may go with your units? It has 3 shades in that grouping and the palest may do the job.
