Small kitchen. Have we planned the space OK?
Comments (11)Hi ! Thanks for the shout Boundsgreener ! With a room size like this - even with the obstacles you have - there's usually quite few different layout suggestions that could work ! (But if we were designing for you we'd need a lot more info about you, than is posted on here, to design this space optimally for you !) Some suppliers (European ones mostly ) do deeper than standard base drawer cabinets - that then allow wall unit storage to go from worktop to ceiling on the wall while still having a full depth worktop, and monster deep drawers, in front - can work well if you need extra storage, as long as you are tall /have a good reach! This, in addition to other fab suggestions above, could work on one side of this kitchen ... but I guess that also depends on your budget too ! re boiler placement - it's a good idea to start with that, by talking through the placement options first with a boiler installer ! Rather than designing the rest of the space first and then hoping where you place it will be ok ? The key things I'd suggest you reconsider on your plans posted here would be the DW placement - it's going to bang slap in the way when open here - and the worktop space between the hob and the oven housing - yes technically you could go as close as 150mm away from the tall cabinet - but in reality - it's always advisable to have a landing space for putting down hot things, either next to or directly opposite an oven - in this case you don't have that. Because your home needs to work well, not just now, but when you may have toddlers around your feet too - it's worth booking some quality time with a credible designer if you can - so if you have a supplier in mind - see if you can book some one to one time - to go through everything in fine detail with the designer, before you order ! Or if you are buying on a budget, from a warehouse type supplier - then there are a few of us totally independent designers around who can work with you ( I work remotely via email and calls etc) to get the design just right to tick all your boxes - then shop around with the plans ... (I know some people would say 'get a free plan done at a nice kitchen studio and then just use their plan' but that's not really fair on the studio and most are becoming wise to this now!!) Hope that helps a bit ?...See MoreCheck out how we increased natural daylight in this London property..

Comments (6)Firstly, you have got a lovely sized room which looks like it can be quite bright. I can see what you mean, having the two doorways makes placing furniture difficult. I would try putting the 3 seater & the 2 seater next to each other in front of the main window (as long as they didn’t block out too much light from the main window, you do risk sun fading and possibly damaging the leather sofas by the sunlight though so maybe a coloured throw draped over them would be good with bright pastel coloured cushions) and put the armchair in place of the 2 seater with the TV where the 3 seater is now. You’ll have greater access to the doors and your room should feel more spacious. Paint wise the colour Egyptian Cotton by dulux would really lift the oak colour doors and tone really well with your carpet, it is a greige with slight green tone but very restful, you can then accent this with bright pastel coloured accessories. I hope that helps a little....See MoreWhat we offer and how we stand out
Comments (0)With KVM Interiors, we're not just like any other. KVM Interiors is owned by myself, Kerise, a Married Mother of 1 son, and a qualified Interior Designer with 2yrs practical experience. I am a self-employed Interior Designer, However, I often enjoy working along side other designers, decorators, carpenters, carpet fitters, installers etc as well as alone. This is to help promote other local businesses around the areas of Wiltshire, Avon & Somerset. This is one of our stand outs, supporting other local, small businesses as well as offering Interior Design services with FREE 30Min Consultations & services being custom to your needs to mainly to design inspired Homeowners & Estate Agents out there who love colourful, stylish rooms e.g. Scandinavian, Contemporary, Modern or Bohemian like this Beautiful Boho Mood Board Proposal below that I recently done for a client! Mood boards like this one is what you'll likely to see if you decided to hire me! This mood board is what I use as a design proposal for clients after getting to know them better once we have filled in a design needs questionnaire that I prefer to go over with them together as part of my 1 hour Initial consultations, so I don't just chuck a piece of paper or link at them for them to be answering like 50 odd questions all by themselves! It makes life so much easier and you enjoy the company of getting to know me too, more of what I could offer, design tips, advice and guidance as well as me getting to know all about you and your design needs. Getting to know the client is very important to me as it's not just about knowing what they desire for designing their interiors, the interior has to go with the clients personalities too and moods otherwise I don't fully believe it could work with just knowing what they want but not what they need too! Interior designs can actually affect a persons mood as well as the atmosphere, especially if it's colours, textures, space or even lighting that they may not like especially if they are a person who suffers with mental health disorders too. Colours, Textures, Furniture, Lighting etc, all of this can make a HUGE difference to ones mood, mental health as well as the atmosphere if all done correctly! I hope you find some inspiration in this and would love to hear from some of you soon!...See MoreHU-569556836
