Hi Ami! While we don't typically spec furniture for clients, a great tip is how easily knobs on furniture can be replaced. That gives you the freedom to find/buy a piece you love with the capability of changing its hardware. Besides typical home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowes, a lot of furniture stores sell knobs and pulls as well. We love selections from Anthropology, West Elm, Pottery Barn, etc.

Hi Katie - Congratulations on the imminent arrival! Friends have just bought their 1st house, another is starting a home Bridal business and both have babies and toddlers - I take my hat off to them. Went to the 1st home yesterday and Emily has decorated almost half of the house - white,white white and it's so refreshing. She'll get round to it as time allows adding art later as she finds and can afford it. I admired 3 amazing pieces of framed art in the kitchen, and was stunned to find her 3 year old painted them! For the future I think it's a lovely thing to do as opposed to just sticking bits of paper onto the wall. So... I agree that getting started before the birth is terrific and, with regard to the hallway, which I'm assuming is entrance, and depending on the size available, a box for outdoor shoes would be good - perhaps white wicker? Oblong? Have a look at Wayfair and in particular Naeve Leuchten for lighting ideas. It's all there. Achica is a site I use often for fabulous reduced price bargains. They only order from the distributor when the deal closes so you may have to wait, but there's always a rough guide as to when delivery would be. I'm sure that when your gorgeous wallpaper is up and the hall is both decorated and dressed you'll see which mirror is right. Perhaps the black framed mirror would look fine above the console??? Maybe the other one could be placed directly at the top of the stairs to reflect the hall or - random - on the door??? The 'THREE' thing relates to gardening - three or five pots/bushes etc, but a lamp, a trinket/key tray and then maybe a low vase would follow this rule too. Good luck with all of this - sorry the lengthy reply has taken you away from decorating, so go girl, pick up the brush and open the paint pots! Have you thought about using paint to create some feature elements on your wall? This way you can introduce your favourite colours in the room while creating some beautiful décor. Hi, I'd definitely look at some art to replace the one you are moving, maybe one large piece or 3 smaller pieces; or, you could even create a gallery wall with framed photos. Alternatively, you could create interest using a modern geometric wallpaper. I'd be tempted to go for a narrower sideboard than the one you have and introduce a shoe storage cabinet like the one posted above; these are usually 20mm in depth so would fit into the recess (where the art is) perfectly.

Appreciating the budget friendly ideas @natashahall1. the walls in question are not load-bearing walls. they are stud walls (if that's the correct terminology for hollow/thin walls put up to create simple divisions). There is a radiator fixed on the partition between the kitchen and living room, on the kitchen side. And the boiler is attached to the kitchen wall facing the garden to the right of the window. I'm pretty sure these terrible design decisions/placements will increase the costs of achieving a design/layout that @HU-149872109 has suggested. but also i'm considering underfloor heating (and getting new floors for the whole groundfloor area) so perhaps this project is probably something i need to bite the bullet on if i want something spectacular for this tiny space. and agree, that's a gorgeous porch! 😍
