Good afternoon Nathan I've been thinking on this again as it has caught my interest. Strangely enough a chap who bought our previous house has requested some samples and I will be meeting with him soon and they are for his home cinema, I didn't consider the acoustic element so thank you for raising this. One last thing I just thought of is alongside the plain and patterned silks (and linens as mentioned above by Victoria above) we can offer a Wool/Silk blend which I think would offer great warmth and acoustics for you. It looks great, I'm glad you and your daughter are so pleased and she has lots of room for friends over, playing etc. It can also be easily and cheaply adapted as she grows if she wants. My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that if not already your daughter may soon also want the desk to double up as a dressing table and therefore I think a mirror was a good idea but the memo board (which looks great) can always be moved as and when needed. (I thought i'd posted a comment on that previously but obviously not!). I might also add a desk light there for working during winter months. So which room next?!

Hello everyone...this is SO very helpful - and thanks Kathryn for all your advice! We're going through the exact same routine for slide & tilt doors - and needs some other windows too. Our shortlist is Sunseekers or IDsystems. We are edging towards IDS, as they can offer the doors AND all other glazing we need - whereas SS only offer the doors (and also saw a few dodgy reviews for them too). IDS are few grand pricier. However your experience makes me feel they may be worth the extra. May I ask you, Kathryn, how much more glazing did you have (re negotiating price down), and what size are your (beautiful!) doors - are they 950mm panels? How much more did you pay for the special colour? THANKS so much,!

Personally I would put large tiles on the floor as well as in the shower, as herringbone will mean a lot of grout lines on the floor to get grubby. Then you could use the herringbone tiles on the wall behind the sink and make a feature of that wall? And/or on the wall above the bath (though it would be a hell of a job for the tilers with that slope, but can be done)? The bath panel could be either the large tiles or the herringbone. What’s the plan for the black long tiles - I like the idea of using those somewhere, maybe on the false wall behind the loo? Black herringbone as a nod to the white herringbone but to give a contrasting colour. Are the marble tiles real marble, or porcelain marble style? They are lovely by the way. If they are real marble I would be a little wary of using them in the shower as they are porous and may stain or spall, also mineral deposits can leach out causing rust stains especially with all those lovely veins. Calacatta is a particularly porous marble, more so than Carrara for example. If they are real then I would limit them to wall use (the sink wall and possibly the wall behind the bath as I say above) and perhaps use the black herringbone in the shower instead?
