Curtain colour headache
Hi everyone really hope you can help... I have a living room 4x4m with one wall practically a window. I have one green wall and the other 3 walls are a grey. I'm struggling to think of curtain colours or styles for the wall as it will be one of the first things you see entering the room. Please see some photos of the colours and any help would be appreciated. We are going for a black wall light on the alcoves with a rectangular terrarium where the fireplace was. We also will he having a battened living wall with floating shelves in one corner I will attach a photo of the window when I'm back

last yearWhat furnishings will you have in the room? What colour is the sofa and carpet/rug? What style are you looking for? Curtains are one of the last things to add to a room and they need to sit well with whatever else is in the room, I agree a botanical print would be lovely and I saw this one by Dorma. Of course you could go for a plain linen style fabric similar to your grey wall.

Comments (18)There are loads of colour ways that you can jump in with that would be complementary. You just need to have a bit of a play and decide how much drama you would like at your window. You talk about cost as being a factor, and for the size of the window, I think you would find that blinds and curtains depending on your choice can come out at a similar sort of cost. Also as you have a lovely bay window, you may want to consider dressing the edges with 'decorative' curtains, that are styled, but never pulled. And then go for blinds for functionality. However - I would also consider the heating in your house. As a general rule, curtains retain more heat than blinds. If you want to discuss colours etc further, I'd be more than happy to have a chat. Comments (11)Hi, I agree with Carolina’s design, but you must be careful as those stud walls might be structural. It might affect the joists, which could cause extra costs for steel and re-adjusting the joists. Have you tried looking into a fire escape window on the 1st floor? Comments (16)The more neutral Roman blinds in a linen or other very natural weave is an excellent call. If you could get the fabric to match the curtains, that would also be worth considering - if you know where the cushions came from, try asking the supplier to help find out. While neutral/mocha curtains may work (check they don’t “fight” the carpet!), I personally would go either with something that picks up the cherry-ish red on the cushions - not necessarily as a solid, but possibly as an accent in a more neutral fabric. I myself would steer clear of the herringbones & stripes (sorry, Living House!) as the rest of the feel is more organic and not in any way angular. Pick patterns with more natural shapes - abstracted petals leaves - rather than geometrics....See More
