bathroom colour scheme

We’re having our bathroom and en-suite done and have picked the wall tiles but struggling to choose what colours to go for in the sink unit and floor. Light wood effect sink unit and grey or beige floor tiles? Main bathroom walls will be the turquoise tiles in the image below (we’re having a white toilet, image is from the showroom) and en-suite the brown/ copper tiles. Open to ideas! Not looking for complete design/ layout advice, just on the colours please 😊

As the wall tiles are quite dark, I'd go light on the floor and vanity. As you're having white sanitaryware, white floor tiles could work. Maybe a white vanity too, though a light oak would add some warmth.

Hi, these tiles are a great colour and would work very well as a feature. I would be inclined to combine them with a simple matching tile for both floor and wall, for example Metroplois Tokyo White which is quite plain or even Urban Concrete which has a bit more interest. Hello, This also depends what is the style of your bathroom. With grey and white you can think of using yellow, gold, beige, red, blue, green. Also, consider the lighting of your bathroom, decide on the colour after. StJames Design Interiors

Toria - are you able to take some more recent photos that show a little more of the room? Your last post mentions mixing a colour for below the picture rail, but I can’t see a picture rail in the photo. Can I also ask a delicate question - I’ve read your post several times and appreciate the emotional ties, but what is the purpose of this makeover? Is this a house that you personally live in and will remain in, or are you preparing to put it on the market? The outcome of that question could result in different suggestions! If you intend to remain in the house, go with whatever makes you happy. Sadly, if the aim is to get it into a sellable condition, buyers are likely to want as neutral as possible because the reality is that they may very well rip it out and start again. For what it’s worth, I think your blue tones are not quite muted enough - they are all quite bright. I’m also not sure about having the peachy colours with the blue colours, one above the other separated by a picture rail or dado rail. You might be better sticking to just one colour throughout - especially as you have a coloured suite plus the tiles. Any more than that could look very busy (unless it’s a huge bathroom!!).

It looks great Sam! I love the cabinet, and the flooring choice too, you’d never know it was lino. We have Lino in our utility room, its so easy to keep clean...lovely and warm and soft under bare feet too! You must be so pleased with it, everything works together really well.

The showroom image looks very jumbled to me - too much black and the wall tiles clash with the floor (one looks turquoise the other violet grey). I like the brown copper tiles, are they for the floor or walls?

The brown copper tiles are for the wall. And we’re going for the turquoise green tiles for the walls in the other bathroom. We’re unsure if colour of floor tiles to match each of them. Grey or beige/ cream/ white? Planning to go for black taps and shower, white sanitary ware, so wondering if a grey floor would be too dark? We like the idea of a light oak colour for the sink unit

I think brass tapware looks better with the corten/brown tiles

Hard to find images of the copper tiles, even on Pinterest. They might look great with paler oak and other warm colours. I like Sarah's image above of the turquoise ones wrapped around the walls and floor.

Try searching for "corten effect tiles" (as in corten steel, rather than copper)

Thank you. Yes it’s difficult to find images of the brown/copper effect tiles! I’ve found one showing black against a very similar tile. What do you think? Am still considering the suggestion of bronze too 😊

We are going for vinyl click tile effect tiles upstairs so can’t have the same tiles on the wall and floor unfortunately.
