What kitchen colour goes with agate grey windows?

9 months agoFB French Gray belongs to the end of the neighbouring Yellow Hue Family.
It doesn’t offer much contrast in terms of value (lightness) but it has almost 3 x the chroma of Agate Grey so it has almost 3 x more colour.
By comparison to the others is has the capacity to feel the most yellow.
But alk these colours still need careful viewing in situ. As although they may appear more greyed or more green, depending upon the lighting, *all* have the capacity to shift and appear somewhat blueish in certain imbalanced lighting.penny_mei1 thanked Marylee HRelated Discussions

Grey goes really well with orange and I agree that using terracotta or similar shades will just accentuate the brass etc. Perhaps you could introduce orange as an accent colour to ties it all together? Comments (8)Lovely kitchen! I think that the wooden floor you have chosen is a good choice. It will bring warmth to the scheme. I think an off white would be a good choice, something like Dulux Timeless or any of the off whites from F&B (see below). If you want more colour you could always paint the dining end a darker shade? Comments (1)To get a clear view of what colour your windows and doors are i had a quick google, from the majority of the pictures no one had really painted render other than an off white however they have also mixed white stone and yellow brick so its a bit of a mixed bag. Sure! There are many different ways to develop a harmonious colour palette in a space.
But in a kitchen of all places, I would want to measure the colour attributes of impactful key fixed finishes and take those into account too. e.g. worktop & flooring. Whatever colour for cabinetry and walls you choose, they need to relate to these major players of the space.
Mapping into which Hue Families they belong, is a great place to start, before introducing more colours.
Limiting the number of Hue Families from which you select these major items, is a stramlined way to ensure a sense of harmony in your space. Then you can add as many further colors as you like, including pale, muted, vivid, dark options - but only drawn from these 3 x Hue Families, keeps your colour palette cohesive.
Example Hue Families that can work together and incorporate your window colour.

Here’s a paint colour palette with a direction connection to the tiling of the cafe.
So again I would say, take stock and understand the colours you have in that space, before adding more. 🌿

9 months agoLooking at Marylee’s samples, Treron by F&B looks a similar tone to Agate but darker? I’ve found some sample pics of Treron kitchen units. The last one is Treron on a wall. Lovely colour but it will depend on what light you get in your room.
