Our loft apartment has no insulation in so we are adding some to the roof space. However, all the sloped area (which goes right down to the floor hasn't been insulated and there is no way to access it from the loft space (the brick wall and beam cover any access).
So we are thinking of internally insulating the walls and adding a new plasterboard over this ?? Is this possible and would 100mm foam board be sufficient?
Would it cause any damp issues?
The base wall behind is cavity brick and we can only insulate the lower half of the wall before it hits the window ie so all the area under the horizontal beam could be done but the area which the rooflights in would still be left as is otherwise it messes up the windows etc.
Photo to come.
Any suggestions?
thank you
