Sage green walls and navy blue sofa?

I’ve ordered very dark navy blue sofas and would like to paint the living room walls a pale sage green colour. Room is south facing. Has anyone got this colour combination please? Will it work ok or will the green and navy clash? The carpet will be a very light grey/ sandy colour.

There used to be a very old saying that blue and green should never be seen. What utter tosh! I think it will look lovely. Here’s some examples I found which I hope will help.

This is mine - the sofa is sofa.com’s armour velvet which is a very dark inky blue. The walls are painted in Grosvenor Square by Mylands. It’s a greeny grey.

So many colours go with sage green. I have in my sitting room and I’ve teamed it with biscuit coloured sofas, a red Persian carpet and green and pink accessories. Remember not to be too matchy. For a modern look I think deep grey, navy and blush pink look nice.

I think you could go various ways. I like the rug, can it go under the sofa feet? (Hard to tell how wide it is from the photo). The art seems a bit small, it often works better if it's hung just a few inches over the sofa to connect with it. I'm not sure if this art is big enough though as 4 seater sofa sizes vary. I'd probably repeat the brass for a coffee table or floor lamp and then I've picked up colours in the art for cushions but maybe vary the texture with linen etc rather than just all velvet. I think it will look great once furnished and accessorised 😊

Another lovely grey green is Cromarty by F&B. I have it in my living room but with a leather sofa due to a naughty cat!
