Comments (4)If you are in the UK, most of the local councils offer a composting service. Normally you can only collect a couple of bags at a time, but it is free and good stuff. While you are there, why not make yourself a wee compost heap? to keep you going over the years to come......See MoreDecking/raised bed dilemma
Comments (21)@pete_bon_9838, @brian_impey, synthetic = plastic in the sense you use it. Polymer. Stretchy molecules. Plastic is acceptable as a material these days, mainly because it has well proven properties in a wide range of applications across a variety of the polymers blessed by the expression. Synthetic comes across more as, hum, well, synthetic? Pretend. Not substantial. Fly-by-night. Pixel imagery without substance maybe? The best plastic decking manufacturer I am aware of uses the word plastic in its name and would not dream of using the word synthetic. Come to think of it, when describing anything of substance, neither would I. Lecture over. 'night folks. :-)...See Moreraised beds on a slope.

This site seems to have it covered. Good luck! https://www.seefit.com/ask/how-to-build-a-raised-bed-on-a-slope...See MoreIdeas welcome for front garden raised bed

Adding to the above suggestions (I’m a lazy gardener) whatever you plant, to make an impact, create a pattern, just 2 types alternating, one taller than the other or mirror the design start at each end with a tall plant and work inwards to shorter ones or vice versa but paint the fence first. I’d keep it minimal too, plenty of space between the plants and add bark or gravel over weed suppression fabric. Trust me it saves loads of time over the year, we had a large shaded patch at the front of our house which we eventually (after 10 years of weeding ) replaced with 3 plants in the middle (holly and a hebe either side) and some bark surrounded by turf. 2 years on and I’ve only needed to pull out a small occasional weed....See More- 2 months ago
