What did you use to hold the plexiglass up? How did you do it?

The 1/2 Acrylic panels slide into a slot at the top of the wall. the wall is just stick framed with 3/4" plywood strips. The plywood stays nice and straight, 2x4's usually warp.

Those gates really do look good. We advise our customers that if they want a painted finish NOT to go for hardwood. The cost can easily double (if not treble) in price and there is no real advantage if instead using a slow grown softwood! In fact, density level of iroko (hardwood) and slow grown redwood pine is extremely close. Yes hardwood is dense but so is some softwoods. Also, the natural beauty of hardwood with a quality oil finish is stunning and seems a crime to paint - in our opinion!

You will need planning approval for a dormer on the front of the house. It is worth calling your local planning department and asking whether they might be minded to approve such an addition to a house in your area - afraid planning departments often wont approve dormers to the front of a house. If you are in the conservation area you will probably need planning permission for any works to the house. If your house is not listed and not in the conservation area it is worth investigating maximising the space you can add to the rear under permitted development - details can be found on the planning portal https://ecab.planningportal.co.uk/uploads/miniguides/lofts/Lofts.pdf when setting out to do any work under permitted development, for piece of mind apply to the planning department for a Lawful Development Certificate - this is not the same as planning permission but is proof that you house extension/dormer is lawful

Redoing my dining room which I would love to change into a kitchen family room but kitchen is relatively new hence stuck with renovating just the dining room. Switching from dark wood furniture to a more modern look. I have really a blank canvas but a complete mental block, need some help with picking furniture. Kitchen is a very soft green, livingroom is beige with accents of blue Was looking for modern pictures, colourful rug, and ideas for windows. The dining room has two large windows. Any ideas would be helpful. House is late 18th century, semi listed but modern. There are 4 doors in the dining room all painted white with white skirting boards and wooden floors.
