Help for tiles on shower feature wall
Comments (5)Hi - if you're still looking for mosaic tiles then you could have a look at our online custom blender design tool where you can create your own tile blend by selecting tiles from our palette. You can change colours, increase/decrease certain colours until you achieve your exclusive blend. Some of our pre-designed blends like Marrakesh are very colourful but are lovely when used with a contrasting blend. All our tile blends are handmade in Scotland. Here is the link for our custom blender. http://mosaicshack.com/custom-blender/...See MoreCan you recommend tile alternative (eg shower panel) that doesn't look
Comments (4)HI Jodg, Microcement is what you should look into. Its seamless, so no worries about trim. When applied by trained applicators it's completely waterproof. It's available in over 30 standard colours, also metallic finishes. it's only 3mm thick so you wouldn't lose as much space as you would with panels. We incorporate a mesh into the base so it will not crack. Finally the sealing is polyurethane so aswell as being waterproof it is extremely hard wearing. The price is comparable to tiles and cheaper than panels for a full room. Here's a few pictures of our work. Feel free to contact us with any queries whatsoever. Thanks, Maxim....See MoreWhat makes an amazing kitchen?
Comments (11)Starting with the initial structure, you need a good layout allowing efficient and effective flow to work areas without obstruction (barrier island, too much thoroughfare in the kitchen, no space for a second person) and a good location overall (not miles from the car, not miles from anywhere for that matter, good ventilation, good natural light and view, some degree of separation from living areas). Then design, good proportions of cabinets, and seating if there is, all materials that are easy to clean, good artificial lighting, makes the space work as it should. I dislike top cabinets too deep, or top cabinets on every bit of wall available. I alsk dislike the line of pew/bar-like seating at islands. And good quality work is vital. The hollow floor tiles, terrible counter seams, doors not closing properly, don't allow wow. And regarding use, use the available space well, take advantage of the design with efficient use and avoid clutter. arrange dishes &appliances effectively, and give it some personality what would make me go wow involves mostly the top points on the actual house and kitchen design, because it's considerably easier to change a terrible or outdated splashback than it is to move the kitchen around the corner for better light are you designing a new build or reno? Comments (5)Whilst I agree in an ideal world, none would be better - if only you could magically neaten all the edges with something without using edging! However, you can get some reasonable looking metal tile edging which doesn't look too bad. It was used on the tiles in one of our bathrooms plus we've just had some used with the tiles in our new kitchen. When you look at the tiles front on in there, all you see is the thinnest brushed silver metal line - so not too bad. I'll see if I can upload a photo....See MorePeri Perry Productions
